March 27, 2017 9 AM Update
IΒ was heading out to bus stop this morning, I realized that I forgot to check for my umbrella in the closet. It turned out it was in my bedroom, which is good because I really needed it. Umbrellas are good when your in a suit in the suburbs but get downtown with the wind whipping around the buildings they are pretty useless.
37 degrees and rain this morning. Rain through the morning, tapering off later. Looking at a high around 49 degrees. More sun come Wednesday. We have to watch Friday, as it may be icy at least in the higher elevations.
The sun will set at 7:16 pm with dusk around 7:44 pm, which is one minute and 9 seconds later than yesterday. Today will have 12 hours and 32 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 54 seconds over yesterday. Already over 12 1/2 hours of daylight. Days are growing quickly.
Tonight will have patchy fog before 4am, then patchy fog after 5am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low of 39 degrees at 5am. Nine degrees above normal. Calm wind. In 2016, it got down to 41 degrees with periods of rain. The record low of 3 occurred back in 1923.
The blueberry waffles I had for breakfast were okay but I should not put them in the mix because they kind of made a mess and came out soft or at least use a lot less water. I guess it’s important to try new things. I should be able to clean up the mess once things cool down.
In the rush down to the bus stop I forgot to turn down the heat, but I guess it doesn’t matter that much because it’s going to be pretty mild out. I’m sure in a week or two I’ll have the heat off until autumn and soon have the windows open. I like having the fresh air in the morning, even if that means more road noise and my neighbors hearing me cuss out the world when I spill hot coffee on myself.
As previously noted, there are 3 weeks until Patriots Day when the sun will be setting at 7:40 pm with dusk at 8:10 pm. On that day in 2016, we had mostly sunny skies and temperatures between 76 and 36 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 59 degrees. We hit a record high of 91 back in 2002. Taxes are due the following day. So don’t forget to pay Trump’s War Department.
