March 20, 2018 10 PM Update

Good evening! Mostly cloudy and 31 degrees in Delmar, NY. ☁ There is a north breeze at 9 mph🍃. Not a great way to start out spring but at least we are missing tomorrow’s Nor’Easter in Albany. Things will start to thaw out at tomorrow around 1 pm. 🌡️

Today was a busy day but not too bad. Got home late enough and had enough beer at Queens Night to decide against my evening walk. 💼Busy day at work but things that needed to get done happened. I’m just glad we aren’t getting the big snowstorm tomorrow. I’m ready for some warm weather and winter fading away, although right now I don’t see much change through the beginning of April. April though may be quite mild.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy ☁, with a low of 20 degrees at 6am. Seven degrees below normal. Maximum wind chill around 13 at 2am; North wind around 9 mph. In 2017, we had mostly clear skies with more clouds in the early hours of the next day. It got down to 32 degrees. The record low of -1 occurred back in 1956. One of the last recorded below zero temperatures through November.

Tonight will have a Waxing Crescent Moon 🌒 with 15% illuminated. The moon will rise at 9:29 am. The First Quarter Moon is on Friday night with a chance of snow. The Blue Moon 🌝 is on Friday, March 30th. The sun will rise at 6:56 am with the first light at 6:28 am, which is one minute and 45 seconds earlier than yesterday. 🌄 Tonight will have 11 hours and 46 minutes of darkness, a decrease of 2 minutes and 54 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will have a chance of snow, mainly after 1pm. Mostly cloudy ❄ , with a high of 35 degrees at 4pm. 10 degrees below normal. North wind 10 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected. A year ago, we had mostly cloudy skies. The high last year was 51 degrees. The record high of 78 was set in 1921. 6 inches of snow fell back in 1905.❄ Snow fall records are less these days.

Cool this weekend with temperatures running 8 degrees below normal but otherwise sunny. πŸ˜€ Saturday, mostly sunny, with a high near 39. Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 41. Typical average high for the weekend is 48 degrees. My niece has her birthday party, I might go to that or I might think about snow camping. We will see how things play out.

Still haven’t gotten the LEDS I ordered from China a month ago. I got everything else. But I don’t want to order more than get stuck with more than I will ever use. πŸ’‘ A bit frustrating as I feel like every time I get home they should be in my mailbox. Everything else I’ve ordered from AliExpress has been dirt cheap and delivered within 14 days or less. It’s annoying.

In four weeks on April 17 the sun will be setting at 7:40 pm,🌄 which is 31 minutes and 59 seconds later then tonight. In 2017 on that day, we had rain, partly cloudy skies and temperatures between 66 and 46 degrees. Gets progressively nicer as spring approaches. Typically, you have temperatures between 59 and 38 degrees. The record high of 91 degrees was set back in 2002.
