Happy 2024! Going to be a hot one as they say about the coming year. Maybe not in Albany, it’s one city in the world, though it certainly looks like it might be fairly mild January to kick off the year, though not as mild as last year.

Up at 5 AM this morning โฐ like usual to get a jump on the morning and cook breakfast. ๐Ÿฅฎ Decided to kick off the year with an oatmeal-apple cake that I baked in the oven with lots of cinanmon and coffee. โ˜• Nice start to the morning. Planning to head out shortly to Five Rivers ๐Ÿฆ to watch the sun rise and look at the birdies. ๐Ÿšด‍โ™€๏ธ Not quite sunrise yet, but I have lights on my bike. Kind of a cool morning, but so be it, that’s to be expected for January. Not going to break any temperature records this morning.

New Year’s Day will be mostly cloudy ๐ŸŒฅ, with a high of 33 degrees at 2pm. One degree below normal, which is similar to January 12th. North wind 3 to 6 mph. A year ago, we had cloudy skies in the morning with more sun in the afternoon. The high last year was 51 degrees. The record high of 57 was set in 1966. 9.2 inches of snow fell back in 1961.โ„
