My camping gear is almost entirely packed except for the cooler. I need to stop at the bank and the farmers market but besides that should be ready for my long weekend at Moose River Plains. I got to make sure that I get to work on time because this afternoon we got reminded by the bosses that we are supposed to call in when we are running late for work. I usually do but sometimes especially on before  a holiday weekend I’ve been known to sneak in late, and usually catch the elevator with my boss who is running out to get her coffee. 

Rather upset that when I got home, I realized that I bought a massive $30 fountain firework and not a box of smaller fountains. I was hoping to have a lot of fun all weekend lighting shit off.  I bought it at Walmart and after some searching I found the receipt so first thing tomorrow I will return it. I’m hoping they’ll take it back. Walmart is pretty good about such things with a receipt. I couldn’t find the receipt at first then I found it. That means that I will need to get an earlier start but fortunately I’m all ready well packed except for the frozen stuff. 

Also bringing my .22lr and if I can get a remote campsite with a decent backstop I can have a lot of fun plinking. Ping, ping, ping. It’s amazing how fast you can chew through 22 ammunition. Fortunately with Trump as president ammunition hoarding has stopped and it’s readily available again. Too bad you can’t buy it mail order in New York anymore because of the obnoxious SAFE Act. 

I was going to bring my solar panel but decided against it because I don’t think there will be enough sun, especially in the woods. The alternator quickly recharges the battery and I plan to drive a fair amount around Moose River Plains. More efficient lighting and the better battery controls with the fresh battery means it discharges much slower and recharges quicker then in years past. 

Bought a bunch of stuff for baking in the Coleman Oven. I should be able to make some good meals that way. I also bought some fire bricks to put in the bottom of the Coleman Oven so that the oven should stay a more consistent temperature. At least because they’re fire bricks they shouldn’t explode from the heat but they are more delicate then I expected so I worry they may crack if dropped. But they were only $2.56 a piece so they won’t break the bank if they’re damaged.
