Good morning! Happy Tuesday on this dark and gray Tuesday. We are starting this morning socked in clouds with temperatures around 68 degrees in Delmar. There is a south breeze at 8 mph. After the front came through yesterday afternoon, it got more humid and the dew point is now around 64 degrees.

Today we will remain cloudy for the bulk of the day with showers and thunderstorms likely after noon. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds and heavy rain. High near 83 with sticky, if not oppressive humidity by mid day. The dew point will get to 67 or 68 by mid day, making you want to seek out air conditioning. South wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

The good news is the oppressive humidity won’t last, as the dew point will drop throughout the night into the low sixties, and eventually back to the comfortable fifties. But getting to bed tonight may be a bit challenging with humidity starting to drop in the evening.

Tonight will have showers and thunderstorms before 2am, then a chance of showers. Some storms could be severe, with heavy rain. Low around 62. South wind 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.Β 

The rest of the week will have seasonable warmth with less humidity but no significant additional rain expected.

Wednesday Night. Partly Cloudy and 56 degrees.
Thursday. Sunny and 84 degrees.
Thursday Night. Mostly Clear and 58 degrees.

Generally the Independence Day Weekend looks decent with ample sun and not too much humidity.

Friday Night. Chance of T-storms then Chance of Showers and 61 degrees.
Saturday. Mostly Sunny and 80 degrees.
Saturday Night. Partly Cloudy and 57 degrees.

Independence Day. Sunny and 82 degrees.
