As we head into the 9 o’clock hour, it’s partly cloudy and 62 degrees in Albany, NY. Rapidly clearing. The dew point is still around 48.

Today will be mostly sunny, with a high near 80. Pretty nice weather, better than expected, and typical temperature for late June. Low humidity, very comfortable. Light and variable wind becoming west around 6 mph in the afternoon. The record high of 96 was set in 1888.

Tonight the sun will set at 8:36 pm with dusk around 9:11 pm, which is 7 seconds later than yesterday. Today will have 15 hours and 18 minutes of daylight, a decrease of 12 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low around 55. Four degrees below normal. A bit cool but not too bad under very pleasant skies. North wind 3 to 7 mph. The record low of 44 occurred back in 1932.

On this day in 1969, Warren E. BurgerΒ is sworn in as Chief Justice of theΒ United States Supreme CourtΒ by retiring Chief JusticeΒ Earl Warren. Certainly that was a big change for the country. Times change and sometimes we need a change in the court to balance things out. That said, I’m not crazy about a liberal court chipping away at our Second Amendment rights. The court should expand not decrease freedom. I’m a liberal Democrat, but the Republicans have to Dump Trump somehow, otherwise we are going to have a president by acclimation.
