January 29, 2020 Morning

Good morning! Happy 37th Birthday to me 🎉! Yeah, I’m getting old 👴 and honestly when your in your late thirties it gets hard to remember how old you are because the difference isn’t great. Old enough to buy Budwiser 🍻 at the corner store and shop at the gun store 🔫 but too young for social security and Medicare by three decades. Three weeks to February Save the Pine Dinner 🠼񲰮 It’s their 42nd birthday celebration and they’re still bulldozing the Pine Bush for more suburbanites housing.

Partly cloudy and 29 degrees in Delmar, NY. β›… The sun is kind of pretty this morning, it’s like that picture I posted with the clouds and the tree yesterday. Not too cold either for late January but this month has been one of the warmest on record, especially the nights. There is a northwest breeze at 8 mph. 🍃. Things will start to thaw out at around 11 am. 🌡️

Looking out at the Norman’s Kill from the Delaware Avenue Bridge 🌉. It is pretty with the sunlight in this morning. Listening to John Denver and Farewall Andromeda. Welcome to my morning. I was up pretty early to take a poop 💩 and I made coffee β˜• which was strong 💪. Strong coffee though is a lot like what the Love of the Land said about hay, cattle and manure. β™» Regardless, it’s a nice morning and I’m going to make the most of my day to advance my future.

As much as I want to move on beyond Albany to a place like a Missouri or the west, where there is a lot more cheaper land and less government 🌆 I’m quite fine with doing my best in Albany for my future. I really doubt I’ll be in Albany beyond age 50 because as much as I like the money 💵 and the promise of a good pension (if I ever return back to government service) there is a lot of the world left to explore 🌍 and places to live where the people and their government agree 👍 more with my values. I’m no conservative but I do look forward to a change beyond the limited horizons of New York. I watch too many videos off off gridders and cattle farmers on the YouTube. 📹

Today will be mostly cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing 🌞, with a high of 35 degrees at 1pm. Four degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around February 15th. Northwest wind around 9 mph. A year ago, we had cloudy skies in the morning, which became light snow by afternoon. The high last year was 29 degrees. The record high of 54 was set in 2002. 8.3 inches of snow fell back in 1990.❄

Solar noon 🌞 is at 12:09 pm with sun having an altitude of 29.4Β° from the due south horizon (-41.5Β° vs. 6/21). The golden hour 🏅 starts at 4:22 pm with the sun in the west-southwest (239Β°). 📸 The sunset is in the west-southwest (246Β°) starting at 5:01 pm and lasts for 3 minutes and 10 seconds with dusk around 5:34 pm, which is one minute and 18 seconds later than yesterday. 🌇 At dusk you’ll see the First Quarter 🌓 Moon in the southwest (214Β°) at an altitude of 39Β° from the horizon, 252,193 miles away. 🚀 The best time to look at the stars is after 6:09 pm. At sunset, look for mostly clear skies 🌄 and temperatures around 31 degrees. There will be a north-northwest breeze at 9 mph. Today will have 9 hours and 51 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 15 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will be mostly clear 🌃, with a low of 9 degrees at 5am. Six degrees below normal. Maximum wind chill around 5 at 3am; North wind 5 to 8 mph. Chilly night for a change, I might want to nudge the heat up a bit. ♨ Although I’ll be fine as is, going to warm up tomorrow again. In 2019, we had light snow in the evening, which became mostly clear by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 1 degrees. The record low of -12 occurred back in 1965.

The weekend forecast has improved at least for Sunday. β˜€Except that’s bad news for Ground Hog Day. 🐻 Saturday, mostly cloudy, with a high near 40. Sunday, partly sunny, with a high near 39. Typical average high for the weekend is 32 degrees. Already we are climbing out of the bear of winter and while we can get extremely cold weather come February into March, it usually doesn’t last long.

🌹🌻🌼Only 50 days remain until the first day of calendar spring!🌹🌻🌼

As previously noted, there are 3 weeks until February Save the Pine Dinner 🦋 when the sun will be setting at 5:31 pm with dusk at 6:00 pm. On that day in 2019, we had cold, mostly sunny and temperatures between 24 and 4 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 36 degrees. We hit a record high of 66 back in 1981.
