January 19, 2023 Night
Good evening! Rain showers and 33 degrees in Delmar, NY. π§οΈ There is a southeast breeze at 6 mph. π. Going to warm up as the night progresses.
The best way to describe the weather this evening is sloppy π§οΈ with a lot of slush around. Just wet not icy locally and it’s only going to warm up as the night progresses. Wasn’t raining hard, so I went for my evening walk πΆ in my waterproof boots. π’
It was a pretty ordinary day, π’ fairly busy as expected and sloppy in the evening but I did my walk. I don’t have much to complain about. Tomorrow is Friday. π²
Tonight will rain and snow before 4am, then a slight chance of snow between 4am and 5am, then a chance of rain and snow after 5am. π§ Low of 33 degrees at 8pm. 18 degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around April 5th. Saves on the heat. Southeast wind 5 to 7 mph becoming light and variable after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of less than one inch possible. In 2022, we had cloudy skies in the evening, which became snow by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 14 degrees. The record low of -22 occurred back in 1970.
I think tomorrow will be wet and sloppy β though things could freeze up but I have my doubts. I’ll try to do my morning walk πΆ in the morning. I’m not convinced that there will be a lot of snow come the weekend locally. I’m more concerned about Sunday and visiting the folks but maybe it will be okay earlier in the day.
