January 16, 2019 Morning

Good morning! What day is it? And early start to my Hump Day, of course. Heading in early this morning on the Voorheesville bus because I things that need to get done early at work. 🚌Next Wednesday is National Cheese Lovers Day πŸ§€.

Gray and cloudy and 27 degrees in Delmar. ☁ There is a south-southwest breeze at 7 mph. πŸƒ. Things will start to thaw out at around 10 am. 🌑️ Going to be somewhat mild for a change.

Today will have a slight chance of snow showers after 3pm. Mostly cloudy 🌦, with a high of 37 degrees at 1pm. Seven degrees above normal, which is similiar to a typical day around February 23rd. The high last year was 30 degrees. The record high of 62 was set in 1995. 15.1 inches of snow fell back in 1945.❄

The sun will set at 4:48 pm with dusk around 5:19 pm, which is one minute and 12 seconds later than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for snow 🌨 and temperatures around 35 degrees. The wind chill around sunset will be 24. β˜ƒοΈ Breezy, 20 mph breeze β›… from the west with gusts up to 34mph. Apparently a lot of people ride the earlier bus to work, πŸ‘¬πŸ‘₯🚌 I guess I’ve always known that but rarely do I get such an early start to work. But I have a busy day ahead of me so I needed to get in early.

Tonight is the Save the Pine Bush Dinner, πŸ› which like usual should be really good. Been a really busy week for sure, and tomorrow is a lecture at the Albany Pine Bush commission world headquarters on climate change that I plan on going assuming that the snow holds off. 🌲

I got my new dress shoes πŸ‘žfrom Zappos and I have yet to open them but they look pretty nice online and relatively affordable at $50. I’m hoping they’ll be good quality and last for several years. I do a lot of walking from parking and between building and that can be rough on shoes. 🏦

Still watching that snow storm for the weekend. ❄ This could be a big storm or maybe not. Maybe if we get a lot of snow I’ll go skiing around town, that’s always fun when it’s still coming down. Plus I have other projects that I could work on. πŸ‚

As previously noted, next Wednesday is National Cheese Lovers Day πŸ§€ when the sun will be setting at 4:57 pm with dusk at 5:28 pm. On that day in 2018, we had rain and temperatures between 48 and 37 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 31 degrees. We hit a record high of 64 back in 1906.
