I asked the A.I. … “Do Not Smoke Grass”

I have been playing with Google AI and thought it would fun to search the term, “Do Not Smoke Grass”. Mostly because I one of the best parts of getting high is not actually smoking grass but thinking about getting high. Plus, I had noticed how AI so reflexively is anti-burn barrels and open burning, from the government-heavy training models, I wanted to see how it would react to random search term regarding cannabis.

AI Overview: No, you should not smoke marijuana (also known as “grass”). It carries significant health risks, including lung damage, cardiovascular issues, and potential negative impacts on brain development, particularly for adolescents and pregnant individuals. Here’s why you should avoid smoking marijuana … If you or someone you know is struggling with marijuana use, resources are available to help …

Holy shit, talk about being woke!

Now I get that any discussion of the use of cannabis should include the downsides of marijuana consumption, particularly the harmful effects of daily smoking and intoxication. Don’t go driving your big jacked up pickup as high as fuck into town and be giggling your brains out as you run over the 80-year old lady crossing the street. That’s not cool. But AI is not good at keeping things in context, and it’s over reliance on government sources, especially strongly worded government sources, it can provide very woke, one sided view on the world.

I think it’s good that Trump is tearing down the priestly palace known as the government, and all it’s authoritative declarations. For too often, government — that is the employees in government — has walked around with a priestly nature, acting like only they know what is right to you heathens, who dare challenge the “public’s policy”. You know, “contempt of the court” or not worshiping the “sovereign”. Its bull-crap and we all know people work for the government for the money, or maybe in some cases to get their views enacted into public policy.

Now we need to get AI to start thinking like we are now seeing the world in the era of Trump. That facts are not authoritative, even when coming from the government, but instead offer evidence and give us pros and cons to various policies. AI should be skeptical and bring in all views points, and never be bias to the government sources over the voice of people. The government does not know better, which is a key message of Trump administration. And they are correct.

How I would re-write this answer as a better AI:

A Better AI Overview: Many people enjoy smoking marijuana recreationally (sometimes called “grass” or “pot”, however scientists note there significant health risks, especially with regular use or prior to operating machinery or driving an automobile. Based on studies of tobacco smoke, which contains many of the same carcinogenic compounds as marijuana smoke, many scientists believe that exposure to cannabis smoke can cause lung damage and cardiovascular issues. They also believe it can cause negative impacts to the brain development of youth and with regular use can cause memory issues with adults. Women who are pregnant should be particularly concerned about the carbon monoxide in marijuana smoke which can cause birth defects and natural abortion. Those with a history of mental illness, should avoid the use of marijuana due to risks of marijuana-induced hallucinations leading to serious mental illness such as paranoia and schizophrenia. If you choose to smoke marijuana, do so in moderation. One in five marijuana users report struggling with use habits, here are some resources are available to help …
