Good Morning – December 4, 2021

Good morning! Happy Saturday. Kind of a dark morning. ☁️

I couldn’t believe how dark it was when I woke up at six o’clock this morning and even at 7 AM it was hardly bright out. I like getting up early, as it cuts down on the darkness at the night, but the mornings still a very dark. I guess it’s called winter.

Overcast and 29 degrees in Delmar, NY. β›… There is a south breeze at 5 mph. πŸƒ. Things will start to thaw out at around 10 am. 🌑️

I am thinking of possibly walking down to the Normans Kill Gorge later today. πŸƒ‍♀️ I often find that trail to be obnoxiously crowded, even in the winter, although I do like the new park or maybe parklet down there — the Noonan Preserve, the section of land east of the rail trail along Normans Kill that was once part of Polly Noonan’s family compound on the southern border of the city. It’s a good place to take a pee in the bushes and walk down along the river. 😀 Men got to do what men got to do. And so far it’s not crowded like the rail trail, and they have a picnic table down there. 🐸

And maybe I could stop by CVS to get my COVID-19 booster. πŸ’‰ I was and are a bit hesitant to do it but I don’t think it’s a big deal. Maybe I should do my hike first, and then get the shot so I’m only miserable on the trip home. I’ll see how nice it is today. Otherwise, I guess I could do the COVID-booster at the Empire Plaza, that is when the state’s COVID clinic is open. 🦐 After that fancy restaurant meal I went to  the other day at work function with all those people in close quarters, I really think I should get my booster. I don’t want to be sick the next day, but it sure beats getting COVID.

I am getting the tires put on Big Red on Wednesday, ⚫ and I’m hoping to get him inspected on Friday. πŸ” That way I will hopefully have a vehicle for next weekend, and if it’s nice, maybe I’ll head out of town. I am thinking it would be nice to go up to the Adirondacks, although lately I’ve been thinking more about the Finger Lakes, just because there isn’t a stay limit in the National Forest — well under 14 days — and that road is plowed, and the Finger Lakes are nice in the winter.
