February 9, 2021 Morning

Good morning! Happy Tuesday. Three weeks to Read Across America Day πŸ“š . Snow showers and 20 degrees in Delmar, NY. ❄ Be careful, the sidewalks are icy outside in places. I saw a lady slip and then I slipped a few times. There is a south-southeast breeze at 7 mph. πŸƒ. There are 9 inches of snow on the ground. β˜ƒ ️The skies will clear around 7 pm.

Today will continue to snow on and off, mainly before 4pm. 🌨 High of 28 degrees at 2pm. Five degrees below normal. South wind 5 to 7 mph becoming light and variable in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies in the morning, which became cloudy by afternoon. Today with the weather 🌨 is going to be a work from home day, mostly using my cell phone although I’ll probably go to the library tomorrow. πŸ“š I’m hoping the books I ordered will arrive. I also want to get some groceries and and wash the truck tomorrow. 🚘 πŸ›’Going to be cold but sunny β˜€οΈ tomorrow which means the solar gain should help keep me warm.

Yesterday wasn’t a bad day. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ I am glad I went down to the library in the afternoon, it wasn’t too cold. It is nice having unlimited internet and having the podcasts downloaded and some additional videos. I haven’t fired up the Hotspot since Saturday. Did both my morning and evening walks. Sidewalks were a bit slick with black ice last night but that’s common this time of year.

Made some minor improvements to the mapping back end, πŸ—Ί disabling the multiply and overlays for the maps on mobile devices πŸ“± to keep things from overtaxing processors like on my very basic cellphone. It works well and is pretty on the big computers but no so well on my phone. I’ve also been putting together some new maps and interesting content for the blog.

Solar noon 🌞 is at 12:11 pm with sun having an altitude of 32.8Β° from the due south horizon (-38Β° vs. 6/21). 🌹🌻🌼Only 39 days remain until the first day of calendar spring!🌹🌻🌼 It looks like the next two weeks will be cold but eventually it will moderate. Before you know it will be a full year since the pandemic started and it was all work from home 🏑.
