Watkins Glen State Park

Watkins Glen State Park is the most famous of the Finger Lakes State Parks, with a reputation for leaving visitors spellbound. Within two miles, the glen’s stream descends 400 feet past 200-foot cliffs, generating 19 waterfalls along its course. The gorge path winds over and under waterfalls and through the spray of Cavern Cascade. Rim trails overlook the gorge. Campers and day-visitors can enjoy the Olympic-size pool, scheduled summer tours through the gorge, tent and trailer campsites, picnic facilities and excellent fishing in nearby Seneca Lake or Catherine Creek, which is renowned for its annual spring run of rainbow trout.

Good Morning – July 26, 2021

Good morning! What can I say, it’s Monday on summer vacation. πŸ–

Apparently now on weekdays the pool doesn’t open until noon. So my late start this morning didn’t really matter one way or another. I am on vacation so no rush on my book.

Sunny and 78 degrees at the Watkins Glen State Park. 🌞 There is a northwest breeze at 5 mph. πŸƒ. The dew point is 62 degrees.

Planning to spend the balance of the day in the pool, πŸŠπŸ»β€β™‚οΈ both swimming and in the Adirondack chairs. Then ice cream 🍦and hiking along Seneca Lake. Then I need ice, some charcoal and a few other things before heading back to camp. I thought about watching the sunset from Seneca Lake but not today.
