Sitting out the rain showers at the Five Mile Mountain Leanto. This lean to is not well suited for rain, as it certainly must get wet in a bad storm. At night though when the sunsets it much be purty for sure.

From the West Stoney Creek Road (more of a dirt trail then a road), it's a mile walk back to Indian Pond in Thurman.
Most of the trailmarkers you see along trails in NYS have indicators that they where installed between '67 and '69, although in a few places you see newer ones, particularly on popular trails. Says something about NYS Conservation Ethics and investment in outdoor recreation.
