Then we continue to add daylight to evening each night until late June, usually around the 26th when both the morning and evening slowly starts to loose daylight as we start the long fade back to winter.

Snow Depth – Wednesday April 7

Outside of the Adirondacks High Peaks, the highest elevations of Green Mountains, and some of the extreme Western Adirondacks, it looks like snow has bit the dust. That said, I bet if your hiking in the highest elevation of Catskills and Adirondacks in deep valleys and sides of mountains in the shadow of sun you’ll still find some deep snow and lot of ice.

8-14 Day Outlook – Wednesday April 7

I am noticing that in the long-range, we are looking at a definite cooling trend. The beautiful mid-May like weather of late isn’t expected to last, although the one good thing about weather in mid-April is a cold day, is only so cold. It’s certainly not like January or February, and probably won’t require turning up the heat or so I hope.
