I have to admit driving in New York is downright boring compared to West Virginia. The roads are so flat, so straight, and so wide.
But then again, New York’s mountains have wide valleys, and it’s rare that a road has to traverse a narrow canyon or do any kind of significant climbing. Few major highways climb over mountains in New York.
County Route 47 in Catskills near Winnisook Lake at 2,680 elevation is the highest elevation all season highway in New York. There aren’t a lot of high elevation roads in New York for sure. The highest Interstate in New York is Southern Tier Expressway in Almond at 2,110 elevation
This shows the percentage of automobiles registered by the ten most popular makes of automobile in New York State. Chevrolet is by far the most popular in the state, although foreigns are more popular downstate.

Because a blast was out of the question, the 162 meters high cooling tower of the former M?lheim-K?rlich nuclear power plant was cleared from above with a remote-controlled excavator piece by piece. After falling below a height of approx. 80 meters, a demolition excavator finally brought the cooling tower down from the ground on August 9, 2019.
Due to a faulty building permit procedure, the nuclear power plant was only in operation for about two years.
Parallel parking in small towns rocks. They still mark the spaces for land-yachts and big pickup trucks.
The marked spots in small towns can take a full-size pickup truck, and still have 2-3 feet between the bumper lines plus 2-3 feet between the driver’s door and the outside of marked parking spot.
In comparison, when I drive Big Red Downtown in Albany in one of the marked spots, the bumper hangs over both bumper lines, and the driver side usually hangs out along the white outer line.
