As not doing something on vacation literally means missing out. It’s not like I’ve spent a ton of money so far, yes food, ice cream, gasoline and even a case ofbeer but it’s the memories and fun that matters. These days are short – it will be Sunday before you know it and I’ll have to take down camp and head home. I’m still eating good healthy meals with tons of fruits and vegetables even if I’ve broke down and are enjoying a few beers each night and goodice cream.
Good morning! Soon it will be time to swim in the Enfield Glen, going to be a hot one. πββοΈ Partly sunny and 70 degrees at the Lucifer Falls in the Robert Treman State Park. β There is a south breeze at 7 mph. π. The dew point is 62 degrees.
It’s funny I’m wearing an older pair of XXL shirts and shorts and they’re so big I look like a clown π€‘ and at this point I’m less worried about that additional ice cream π§ or beer π». Got to enjoy vacation still I’m eating apples and peaches all day long. π Need to stop buying peaches at the grocery store as the farm stand ones are a million times better. After that campfire salmon π last night with rice, mushrooms, peppers and onions I cut open that watermelon π and more then a third is gone. Yeah, I did dump a shit ton of MSG on it, I’m addicted to Accent. Better than salt for the blood pressure and makes most food items, even healthy ones taste a million times better. βΊ Vacation is seperate enough from home I’m not tempted to hit up ice cream stands when home π‘ and I’ll lock π the remaining beer π» in my attic so don’t drink it before camping again βΊ in a few weeks.

A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. It was somewhat humid. The high last year was 90 degrees. The record high of 97 was set in 1975.
Tonight will have a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy β‘, with a low of 62 degrees at 6am. Typical for tonight. Maximum dew point of 63 at 6pm. South wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. In 2022, we had mostly clear skies. It became sticky as the night progressed. It got down to 72 degrees. The record low of 46 occurred back in 1966.
A picture perfect weekend on tap. π Saturday, mostly sunny, with a high near 78. North wind 3 to 8 mph. Maximum dew point of 63 at 11am. Sunday, partly sunny, with a high near 81. Maximum dew point of 62 at 7pm. Typical average high for the weekend is 83 degrees. I’ll take it. πGood for swimming and maybe calm enough for kayaking too on one of the Finger Lakes. Bit humid though for a lot of hiking and cycling but the ice cream will be good. π§π¦π¨
I'm sure I might get pelted by stones hiding under the cliffs or even yelled at but I won't stay long. The same was true yesterday hanging out under the cliffs on Seneca Lake though they're not forbidden to be under in a kayak πΆ.
And here I am sitting at Stewart Park listening to Otis Redding waiting for the sunset. Maybe I won’t get up so early tomorrow morning. I’m so tired and a bit sunburnt though the protein from the hard boiled egg and a banana gave me some go. Going to be a good sunset tonight. Don’t have to stay up that late after I return to camp.
