8-14 Day Outlook – Sunday January 22

After a rather mild winter, we might actually have some below average weather come late January into February. That probably doesn’t bode well for the Ground Hog not seeing his shadow, but I am not surprised as the past few years seems like winter really doesn’t come into it’s true furry until February with a good cold snap. But the thing about a February cold snap is it gets hard for it to stick around too long with the sun angle and length of day steadily increasing, with the average high around 40 by the end of February.

The La Nina pattern is breaking down, and it might actually be a pretty warm summer in a few months as El Nino dominates the weather. Which could mean we might actually have Albany’s first 100 degree day in over 65 years, followed by a very cold and snowy winter. But I’m not ready to think that far ahead.
