Southville State Forest
Southville State Forest covers 551 acres located in the town of Stockholm in northeastern St. Lawrence County. There is a 2.5 mile recreational trail loop (yellow markers) which begins on the Southville Road near the state forest sign and leads southwest through a mixed forest of pine plantations and northern hardwoods. It is open to hiking and cross-country skiing. There is also a short spur (red markers) which leads to an alternate parking area off the Southville Road. Some informal campsites exist a short distance from the trail, not that far form the river.
