Snow in North and East

Legend for Modeled Snow Depth (Shallow-snow Legend)The other day I discovered that one can easily get current snowfall estimates from the NOHRSC Interactive Snow Information Website, by clicking the link to the latest page or latest image in the lower left-hand side of the page. Very handy for planning outdoor trips.

Here are some of the images you can get from that page, which are very helpful for planning camping, hiking, skiing, snowmobiling and other activities during the winter months when you aren’t necessarily sure how much snow you will be dealing with or how deep the snow is. Are seasonal-use, non-gated roads open to safe driving? This can help you find out. Very helpful for sure.

Listening to the rain pound down on the roof.

Listening to the rain pound down on the roof. Sure I would have rather been up in the wilderness but not with the rain pouring out of the sky. I could have erected a tarp and built a fire but it still would have been soaking wet with the wind. So alas I’m back home. The past two nights though were fun.

Doesn\'t look like Christmas out here.
