Schoharie County

Schoharie County is a county located in the U.S. state of New York. As of the 2010 census, the population was 32,749. The county seat is Schoharie.

A primarily rural county known for the fertile Schoharie Valley, it is also home to many state forests, including Burnt-Rossman State Forest.

Cotton Hill Lean-To

For a while before I had to work, I considered going up to the Cotton Hill Lean-To this weekend to either camp there or hammock camp then spend the day at the Gas Up.

Lost Valley

Most of the Schoharie Creek follows farm fields and rich soils. But there is a section near the Lost Valley State Forest that runs through a deep gorge cut through the hills between the Schoharie Valley and Mohawk Valley.
