This is an interesting idea, pushed by some of the more libertarian types over the years.

What peaked my interest in this article in particular, is it was proposed by a liberal web-magazine, and made the interesting point that most elections where not by secret ballot until the 1880s. Nobody knows who you vote for when your in the ballot booth.

On the other hand, older people who tend to be more conservative, pass away, and younger people who become voters tend to be more liberal. Nothing too new here.
