John Boyd Thacher State Park, is situated along the Helderberg Escarpment, one of the richest fossil-bearing formations in the world. Even as it safeguards six miles of limestone cliff-face, rock-strewn slopes, woodland and open fields, the park provides a marvelous panorama of the Hudson-Mohawk Valleys and the Adirondack and Green Mountains. The park has volleyball courts, playgrounds, ball fields and numerous picnic areas with nine reservable shelters. Interpretive programs are offered year-round, including guided tours of the famous Indian Ladder Trail. There are over 25 additional miles of trails for summer hiking and mountain biking, and winter cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, and snowmobiling.

Good Friday is well Friday. Actually looks like a pretty nice day and I have it off. No plans yet set in stone, rain Saturday. But first 72 degrees today. My standards are pretty low this time of year.

Busy day yesterday. 💼 I still have a stack of work from yesterday to do. I guess everything gets compacted with a four day work week. It was a pretty nice day by afternoon although it still gets dark too early. 🌃 I did sit out back for a while under the moon 🌕 although it ended up cutting into my sleep a bit.
Yesterday was National Grilled Cheese 🧀 day, so you can guess what I had for dinner but it involved dairy fat. 🐮 There is a reason why dairymen who burn 6,000 calories a day hauling hay and shoveling manure are chubby. 🚶 I also didn’t get my steps in yesterday because I didn’t have a chance to take a lunch as I was busy at work.
I did get to Tractor Supply and get my propane tank 🏮 filled so I should be good if I head out of town. I washed my truck – more on that later – and went to Wally World and stocked up on many things I was low on including the super pack of toilet 🚽 paper so I’m prepared for the next pandemic and can wipe my butt for the next six months to a year.
Washed my truck last night, a big hunk of rust came off the trailer hitch. 🛻 I guess I won’t be towing anything with Red anytime soon not that I plan. Now I wonder about how much invisible frame rust there is. Salt belt life, my truck is getting old. At this point I want to get whatever life I can get out of the truck. There are some pretty rusty ol GMT 800 still out there on the road, so I’m more worried about the engine or transmission being the end. Neither has gotten worse lately but ultimately that’s was kills these trucks. I’m not spending the big bucks to repair either of when the time comes, makes no real sense.
I am thinking about taking off Monday and heading out of town on Thursday after work 🌲 but with the weather I’m not certain. I miss traveling. Part of the issue is I’m waiting for a package 📦 to arrive but the following week have a family event. 👪
It looks like we will get it all today, but still quiet mild for most of this week. Then colder for the weekend. I think I will take off Monday, and head out of town this weekend on Good Friday, but not sure where.

I was feeling kind of out of it, tired and just sick yesterday. 😩 Not sure what it was, maybe still catching up on sleep from last week. But today I am feeling a lot better, despite the rain. 🚌 I did walk down to the express bus but not the earlier one as on this dreary morning, I wasn’t rushing around and I figured I probably wouldn’t be doing laps on the plaza in the rain.
Yesterday, was a fairly quiet day. 🤫 Nice afternoon for walking at Washington Park mid-day, and the commute home. Marconi and cheese I made for dinner. 🍽 After such a long and crazy week last week, I am glad I’m recovering. Still felt fairly tired and sick on Monday. Not sure if I was coming down with something, but I feel better today. I’m still wearing my muzzle.
Walked down to the Town Park 🏞 last night, and it was a very mild evening though the park wasn’t as wet as I expected. Some of the nature trail was eroded though from the heavy rains last week. Heard the owl 🦉 but other then that not a lot of wildlife besides some deer 🦌 around dusk by the softball fields.

Yikes it has so quickly and I’m struggling to get going this morning. Still struggling to get back on a regular schedule after those all nighters over Friday and Saturday.

As session is done for the next two weeks, 👨🌾 no need to dress up so I’m taking the express bus 🚍 downtown, though not the earlier one as I’m struggling to get going. My alarm ⏰ clock was turned off and I wasn’t going to well after 6:30 which is very late for me.
I am just very drowsy this morning, 😴 which I don’t understand because I was in bed by 8 PM and asleep by nine. I slept well until after 6 AM this morning. All weekend I’ve been struggling to recover a bit.
Catching the later express bus in this morning means less time to walk, 🚶♀️ but it will be a nice-day midday, and I’ll probably walk up in Washington Park and by the time I’m home this evening will likely have my steps in. Assuming I don’t go to the park later.
I am thinking about going to the store today, 🏪 although maybe I’ll wait until tomorrow. I also want to wash any remaining salt off my truck. 🐦 It’s such a nice day, maybe it would be better to walk down to the town park before it gets dark.
