Five Rivers Environmental Education Center is a living museum comprising over 450 acres of broad fields, towering forests, and tranquil wetlands. Five Rivers offers people of all ages a rich variety of guided and self-guided opportunities to encounter nature directly. Stimulating interpretive programs and guided school lessons promote awareness, knowledge and appreciation of New York State’s environment year ’round. Walking around Five Rivers this afternoon I was thinking, we often have snow by now. Not all years but many. I know I’ve been seeing a lot of snow and winter pictures popping up in my archives lately. They do have some snow up north but it would be unusual if they didn’t at this point but snow free day in the low country Adirondacks are certainly not unheard of for early December.
