It was a pleasant walk down to the express bus. 🚌 Lately the drivers have been parked at the bus stop early which gives me a little more time to work on blog posts as I wait to head downtown✍. Lots of sun, smooth commute downtown, and grass is greening up.🌿

That’s Arbor Day, a good day to celebrate trees 🌲and all they provide society like wood to burn. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon. But depending on which forecast you look at the weather for the following weekend in the Adirondacks 🗻 looks pretty good. The snow is rapidly melting in the North Country for sure. It looks like a big warm up is ahead for the end of the month. With the rain we will be getting in Albany over the next few days followed by the heat, things will really be out in bloom. I don’t expect though for things to be very green when I’m up north, but blue skies would certainly be nice for camping, even if not as nice for fishing.⛺

Lately I’ve been listening to a lot of podcasts 👂 about both self improvement and studying spreadsheets about compound interest, savings and retirement. I do think going car less for a few years is an option to explore further but not until 2021 — it could save a lot of money. In the meantime, I’m researching different insurers and what I really should have on my policy. Won’t save a lot of money, but a little bit. I also been pricing out hunting camps and other remote off-grid properties, to see what I really need for resources to buy land in 10 years. Obviously, that has to be tied to some kind income going forward,  and probably just as important, some kind of affordable health insurance. But it’s good to have a realistic picture of the numbers and challenges ahead.

Not a half bad morning to walk down to the bus. 🚍 Lots of sun but cold for sure, at least by what I think mid April should feel like. The grass 🌾 is greening up a bit and a few trees in Albany are starting to bloom but I’m not predicting an early spring by any means. Winter is concluding.

I am very happy that after I updated my phone 📱 software the sound 🔊 is now back and working on the phone. It just makes the bus ride and walking around town more pleasant when I can listen to music or podcasts. 🎧

I’ve been looking forward to a night that is nice enough to go down to park ⛲ but so far that hasn’t happened. It seems like every warm night it’s cloudy and rainy ☔ and every other night is cold. Maybe I’m rushing spring too much as it will be here before you know it. And probably really hot. My neighbor already installed his air conditioner.

Again tonight, I’ll probably retire to bed early, 🛏 as I continue to have problems with sleeping. I fall asleep pretty early but then find myself waking up at night, and not real rested in the morning. I’ve also been a bit achy the past few mornings. I’m hoping with warmer weather, and the windows open more often, things will get better.

I am keeping an eye on the really long range 👀for the Easter Long Weekend and it doesn’t look great. I have Good Friday off. I’m not hung up on heading out of town for Easter 🐇 weekend but I could decide to head up north on a Thursday night for the final and weekend of April and make my own long weekend trip depending on the weather.

I’m looking forward to packing my camping gear ⛺ in my truck and getting ready for camping season in a week or two to kick off. I like nice nights in the wilderness.

This morning, not being a session day, I walked down to the express bus station 🚉 and are now riding into work. A fairly mild day, the heat was off in my apartment but it was quite comfortable waking up. 🌞 Waffles with blueberries and raspberries this morning. ☕ With a good cup of fresh coffee, a good start to the morning. I was feeling pretty rested, finally caught up after the Big April Fools joke known as working for 24 hours straight.

I got the email from the national weather service office today about the Red Flag 🚩 Warning ⚠ due to the high fire 🔥 risk that is common in the spring time. I guess if you burning stuff up in the woods, like having a campfire, you should be careful,.

This afternoon after work I’m heading over to John Wolcott’s house to continue sorting his historical files 📂. Probably stay until around dusk 🌆 and catch the 7:30 bus 🚍 home. No more late nights or session this week at work. The legislators all booked out of town yesterday. I packed some Save the Pine Bush Dinner lasagna 🍛to heat up and eat before leaving work tonight. Seems like a fitting thing.

Yesterday morning was crazy 😜 too as the bus was packed with exchange students heading downtown and I had some client issues to address over the phone 📱 on the bus. The evening commute – I got out a five – was much easier. Fairly smooth commute home, not too much traffic. Not quite nice enough though yesterday to go down tot he park.

Yesterday after work I went down to the library for an hour to work on the blog and a few other things. 📝 Been really busy at work, I’ve not had the time to even briefly update ☑ my blog from time to time on my phone. I skipped my evening walk 🚶 because I was tired. I did however ride the bike 🚲 for a while but stopped as I don’t have any more interesting YouTube videos that I’ve downloaded.

No camping ⛺ this weekend as I’m going to my niece’s three year old birthday 🎂 party on Saturday but Sunday sure looks nice, although maybe too sunny for good trout fishing. I do need to get some night crawlers for sure. 🐛 A nice hike would be good too.🚶 The following week I should go to the transfer station and then start loading my camping gear back in the truck. Still hoping for decent weather for the Easter holiday weekend. 🐰
