Daily Update – October 15, 2022

Good afternoon! Happy middle of October Weekend. πŸŽƒ

Bridge day down in West Virginia where they have that big party on the expressway bridge over the New River Gorge. Locally though the colors are good but already fading especially in the hills.

Partly sunny and 58 degrees at the Five Rivers Environmental Education Center. β˜€ There is a south breeze at 9 mph. πŸƒ. The dew point is 45 degrees. Temperatures will drop below freezing at Thursday around 6 am. β˜ƒοΈ

You know my reaction is basically where has the year gone. πŸ—“ In many ways I want these turbulent years to come and go in my life, my investments and savings to grow so I can have my own land. I want the recession and inflation to be over, but at the same time things are going by too fast. ⏳ And I feel like I go less and less every day.

Out to Five Rivers Environmental Education Center 🌲for a while just to observe nature 🐿️ and get my steps πŸ‘£ in for the day. I didn’t get an early start earlier as the morning was dark with a lot of fog. 🌫 Colors are already fading, they were so nice when I was at Rennselearville State Forest that very cold and windy Columbus Day Weekend πŸ‚ last week.

After I get home and have lunch πŸ” going to shower 🚿 and head over to John Wolcott apartment in Colonie. I haven’t seen him since June and while he speaks few words at this point its good to visit while I still can. It’s a pretty good trip up there but I’ll combine it with an evening πŸŒƒ walk in the Pine Bush.

Daily Update – June 25, 2022

Good morning! A hot and sunny summer weekend ahead πŸ–

I’m staying home this weekend as I only got back Tuesday night from the wilderness but I’ll try to spend as much time as possible outdoors.

Sunny and 80 degrees at the Five Rivers Environmental Education Center. 🌞 Light breeze. The dew point is 61 degrees.

Kind of a quiet, relaxed weekend ☺️ after being out of town last weekend. Laying back at Five Rivers Environmental Education Center, watching some nature 🐸 and in a bit I’ll hike home, have lunch πŸ₯ͺ and then walk down to the library πŸ“š to return some books and do some research for Save the Pine Bush. πŸ¦‹

Tomorrow I’ll head out to the folks house for Sunday dinner πŸ” and may toss my tube into Lawsons Lake and do some floating in the sun. β• Just a quiet weekend.

Independence Day Weekend πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ I’m thinking about the Potholers or maybe Schoharie β›Ί especially if I can have most of Friday off after the rumored special session on Thursday. I guess it’s good I didn’t drop all my suits off for dry cleaning after all. πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸ’Ό

Daily Update – June 12, 2022

Good morning! Happy Sunday. β˜€

A remarkably nice spring day. Not at all what I expected. Decided to walk out to Five Rivers Environmental Education Center after putting around, working on some code.

Partly sunny and 72 degrees at the Five Rivers Environmental Education Center. β˜€ There is a south-southeast breeze at 10 mph. πŸƒ. The dew point is 57 degrees.

Both yesterday and today I walked 🚢 out to Five Rivers. Today along Meads Lane, yesterday the more direct way as my contact lens πŸ‘€ was bothering me at the end of the day. Besides that been spending most of my weekend at home due to high gas prices. β›½ You can avoid the pump if you don’t drive. Maybe I would have gone to the Gas Up were gas not so expensive. 🚜

I should have my 10,000 steps in by the time I get home. πŸ‘£ I’ve been doing well above that for all week, and I expect to be above that by later. πŸ” In afternoon I’ll be joining the folks for Sunday dinner and then depending on the weather I might do a quick πŸŒƒ evening hike.

I am hoping to take off Thursday or Friday of next week to head up north for a five day weekend. β›Ί Not totally sure where I’m going or when, I’m a bit concerned about the end of the week forecast though the weekend looks nice but cold with highs in the upper 60s. But it’s been a long time since I have gotten out of town.
