In this video I want to share my experience with implementing solar at my off-grid cabin. I'm often asked how much it costs to have solar and that's a loaded question. There is no easy answer because everyone's power needs will be different. So in this video I hope to help steer those thinking about solar in a general direction of questions they should ask themselves and I try to provide some tips to help you avoid the mistakes I made.
I've always admired NB888's way of living, as it's simple but does the job. His solar system is nice -- he doesn't have tons of electronics, but it's sized big enough to meet his needs. I wish I had more battery storage on my truck, but I don't want the weight added to my truck, but I would definately make sure I have enough battery and panel when I own land, even if I don't want a full 120-volt system.
Maybe there is hope for warmer weather and the weekend but so far this morning is plain cold.
