In Four Weeks on April, 6, 2022

In Four Weeks …

In four weeks on April 6 the sun will be setting in the west (280°) at 7:28 pm (Daylight Savings Time),🌄 which is one hour, 32 minutes and 25 seconds later then today. In 2021 on that day, we had sunny and temperatures between 63 and 34 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 55 and 33 degrees. The record high of 82 degrees was set back in 1921.

Weather Update – March 9, 2022

Cool it looks like through mid-March 🌨

Did you see, nuisance snow today? Not a lot but definitely flurries around this afternoon. Tomorrow though will be much nicer. Weekend though looks cold and rainy for sure. Don’t think I’ll be heading out of town, but with gas prices what they are I wasn’t really planning. I am hoping though that things calm down come April. At least with the warm weather expected later this week and next week, doesn’t look the snow will stick around long.

Daily Update – March 9, 2022

Good morning! What day is it? A soon to be very snowy Hump Day, of course. 🐪 🌨

Do you remember the very much snow covered dairy camel in Vermont that was internet famous for a few days a few years back?

Cloudy and 25 degrees in Delmar, NY. ☁ Calm wind. 🍃 Things will start to thaw out at around 10 am. 🌡️

Dark morning with the snow 🌨 coming later. I had trouble getting going this morning, my eyes 👀 were terribly irritated. I didn’t get to bed until late last night 🛏 as I had to work late and wasn’t feeling well this morning. Maybe this evening I’ll go for a walk, depending if I have to work late. 🕒

My neighbor hit my trash can lid last night and smashed it up pretty badly. 🗑 I was pretty annoyed about that, as it’s not the first time it’s gotten hit. Looks like from looking at it this morning though that I can epoxy it back together. I think I probably have some rubber cement at home or maybe I can go buy some. I don’t think I can get another trash can lid, or maybe I can, but I’d rather just fix it then throw it away. It’s not like it has to look real pretty — it’s just storing cans and glass for recycling or rotting food and plastics that probably will end up getting burnt in a few weeks.

I was so damn frustrated about it, 😠 as it was just another broken thing in my life. I get it’s a garbage can, doesn’t have to look pretty, and I can certainly replace it but I don’t need more crap in my life. I need to find a solution to it. 📞 I ended up calling Mom and Dad and we chatted for about 45 minutes, although I still don’t think I found a solution. They offered to take old trash for their own use around the farm 🚜 but I’m like why should I have to get rid of a perfectly good can that has just a broken a lid.

Lately it just feels like everything has been falling apart. 🔧 The more money I make at work, the more deeper I find myself dug into the hole. Inflation and taxes 💸 eats up more and more each week, my bank account struggles and gets lower it seems every paycheck. I keep trying to cut expenses but it gets harder and hard to do.

Another late night at work, 👨‍💼 but at least I’ll probably get a free dinner out of it. 🍕 I heard they are ordering pizza. Any meal that I don’t have to cook and get for free is one less expense. Plus then if I get home late enough, I can just go home, turn off the lights and snuggle under the heated blanket. The blanket uses a little bit of electricity, but I doubt for the whole winter it equal a full 10 kWh, which even in these inflationary times is less then $2 in electricity.

I’ll get through the week 😫 rest up this weekend while it snows and is cold, then hopefully next week will be better. 🌺 Supposed to be quite mild next week, and there is the time change so much less darkness in the evening. 🌆 Plus, it’s only a two day session week next week, so less time dressing up for work, and hopefully I’ll have my evenings back, assuming I don’t have to work late.

Weather Update – March 8, 2022

Talk about a blustery morning today. 🌬️

The wind is really roaring about. It’s not super cold but look, snow 🌨 is expected for tomorrow. But not a lot. Then heavy rain for Saturday. Not that I can afford to go very far from home, thanks to the mismanagement of everything in Washington DC. ⛽

But maybe with stagflation, it will be a chance to get some good deals in stock market and eventually things will recover. 📉 After all, people who lived through the 1970s and survived, got to live in better times in later decades. 🌱 Fairly warm so maybe that will help a bit with the heating bills.

Daily Update – March 8, 2022

Good morning! Happy Tuesday.

🌹🌻🌼Only 12 days remain until the first day of calendar spring!🌹🌻🌼

Partly cloudy and 32 degrees in Delmar, NY. ⛅ Breezy, ️22 mph breeze from the west-northwest 🌬 with gusts up to 37 mph 💨💨💨. The current wind chill is 19. Things will start to thaw out at around 9 am. 🌡️

With that wind 🍃 it feels like an early March morning, not too cold but blustery. But I remind myself that April isn’t that far away. Warmer weather should be here before you know it.

The mornings are quite light now 🌅 but will be darker come next week. But only two session days next week due to Purim and Saint Patrick’s Day 🍀 so I can take the express bus 🚍 in and not walk quite as early in the morning.

I swear every time I don’t put gas in my truck ⛽ prices go up another 40 cents. But it’s not like I’m driving much these days although it’s going suck come summer although I tend to think start to clear up by summer. Either the economy will go into the crapper or the politicians will collectively realize that they have no future 🔮 and will start to play nice with Russia. Probably both. $4.45 a gallon for gasoline locally, diesel is $4.98.

I just wish the US could come to some kind of agreement with Russia. 🇷🇺 It’s not worth it to screw up the whole world’s economy over some pissy little country at the border of Russia. Oil is the currency of the world, it keeps motors spinning, power plants running. Affordable energy is key to human happiness. We don’t need to drill baby drill, or put oil wells in bad locations, but we shouldn’t be getting in a pissing match with Russia. The US should be buying Russian oil, 🛢 to keep the economy flowing. We should look to restore order in Ukraine, and if that means selling Russia surplus US military arms, then so be it. It might stink to high hell, 👃 but sometimes we have to do what is right for the world, and not what is moral. There are too many do-gooders today.

Looks like the weekend is going to rain, 🌧 which is fine because I doubt I would want to go out of town with gas prices continuing to rise. The whole situation kind of sucks, but what can I do? The incumbent in the White House gets 2 1/2 more years in there, but hopefully things will rectify themselves in coming months. There isn’t a lot to get worked up about things I don’t control. 😠 So I’ll just take a deep breathe and enjoy the clear weather out today.
