Good morning! Happy Primary Day. 🗳

At least for those districts that the special master-baiter in the Bath didn’t wreck yet. Of course, is it still primary day if you early voted as I already did some time last week?

Mostly sunny and 58 degrees in Delmar, NY. ☀ There is a west-northwest breeze at 6 mph. 🍃. The dew point is 51 degrees.

The sun ☀ is shining and it’s a pleasant morning out for the walk walk 🚶 a little before 6:30. Not too hot yet although in the sun you can feel it warming up like most late June days. Not a real hot day, heading up to 77 degrees later.

Yesterday went down to the park 🏞 and read 📖 for a while until dusk. 18,900 steps yesterday 👣, today marks 25 days of getting my steps in for the day. That step counting app is a good kick in the ass to get moving. My boots 👢 I got in West Virginia are pretty worn at this point and need replacing. I want to try and get another week out of them before the holiday weekend.

I was thinking about going up to Peebles Island after work today, 🏝 but I decided I would wait until next week. I might end up needing to the store to get groceries, 🏪 as I was realizing this morning I had less in my pantry then I had expected. So my trip might be to the store. I was a bit hesitant to go to store tonight, because I wanted to have a better idea on what my weekend plans were going to be first, but so be it. I can always make another trip to the store later in the week. Gas isn’t that expensive, though it is. ⛽

I keep seeing those eco ads 🌎 that are supposed to make you feel guilty about your carbon footprint and buy stuff. I like trolling them. The thing is that I drive a big jacked up truck 🛻, burn my garbage 🔥 with one trip a year to recycle cans and glass ♻ , use Styrofoam plates at camp 🍽️ and don’t buy a lot of shit.  👜 Biodegradable trash bags are dumb if you don’t use many and you end up burning them with the rest of the burnable crap. Eventually I plan to use feed sacks and reuse them as many times as possible before sending them up in smoke – and butcher my own livestock 🔪 🐮  not wrapped in plastic. 🗑 Now that’s green. 🥗

Been looking at replacing the battery on my laptop. 🔋 The last battery I got from EBay or Amazon — I don’t remember lasted about a year and a half before going bad. Now it’s no it holds no charge whatsoever. I might end up just getting another inexpensive battery, as my laptop is kind of on it’s last legs and I want to get whatever life I can get out of it 👨‍💻 before having to throw it away and replace it. I tend to wear out and break my computers before they need upgrading.

I went out for my walk early today to beat the heat. Not bad at 6 AM, I was up around sunrise at 5:15 AM.

Mostly sunny and 64 degrees in Delmar, NY. 🌞 There is a south-southeast breeze at 5 mph. 🍃. The dew point is 60 degrees.

Today’s plan to head back home after the walk 🏃‍♀️ sit by the fan and maybe go down to the library for a while. Head out to the folks house for Sunday dinner. Then maybe an evening walk, to ensure I can get my steps in for the day. 👣 A swimming hole would be nice, but I don’t want to drive my truck too much before it’s repaired, if it was I now think is causing the ABS light to come on my truck.

I was doing some research on the ABS light on my truck, 🛻 and it’s a somewhat more of a priority after I found it’s likely the wheel bearing/hub on the opposite side that I had replaced on West Virginia trip that is going. Makes sense, it’s been somewhat noisy for some time now, and it’s a common issue on Chevy trucks — replace one wheel bearing and then the other side with a weaker speed senor kicks out error codes. Or more likely the bearing just needs to be replaced. I have noticed that bearing get progressively noisier, and even start to complain with the classic wheel bearing squeal when pushed too hard around the curves. Maybe it’s not that but I can hope.

I don’t anticipate it being that expensive, 🔧 if it’s the same thing that happened on the other side of my truck. It’s just one unit, not a real expensive one, and doesn’t take a lot of time to repair. Is what it is, I’ll make an appointment come Monday. I want to avoid doing too many miles before it’s fixed. I can probably make it home from the Adirondacks with a bad wheel bearing and the wheel not falling off, but I don’t want to bother with a tow or a rental car or making a trip to god knows where to pick up my truck once it’s repaired. 

I am not sure if I will be able to get out of town now for Independence Day Weekend 🎆 but truth be told, with gas prices, I’m not that strongly thinking about heading out of town. I want to save my gas money for weekends that are exceptionally warm and sunny. Kind of like this weekend, although maybe a bit warmer still.
