Cortland County

Cortland County is somewhat to the west of the center of New York State, south of Syracuse and north of Binghamton. The county seat is Cortland. As of the 2010 census, the population of Cortland County was 49,336.

Cortland, New York

Cortland is a city in Cortland County, New York, United States of America. Known as the Crown City, Cortland is in New York's Southern Tier region. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 19,204. It is the county seat of Cortland County. Largely in an agricultural area, with deep fertile valleys surrounded by high hills, the town is most famous for it's college. Interstate 81 winds around the northern edge of the village.

Maybe a fairly unremarkable rural valley in Chenango, Cortland and Madison counties but a pleasant drive and worth an exploration.

Marathon, NY

Marathon is a town in Cortland County, New York, United States. The population was 1,967 at the 2010 census. The town of Marathon contains a village also named Marathon. The town is on the southern border of the county and is in the Southern tier region of New York State and is southeast of Cortland.

NY Route 26, the Otselic Valley

A rainy day driving north from Price's Dairy where I got sweet corn through rural farm country in the Otselic Valley along NY Route 26, including many small towns of Cincinnatus, Pitcher, Otselic, and Georgetown. Sped up 10 times.
