Hundred Year Flood Area – South End Albany and Renselear

I have been exploring additional Web Map Services and noticed that a great deal of the City of Rensselear and the South End of Albany are within the 100 year flood plane (shown in orange), which means that any particular year there is a 1 percent chance of this area flooding. While floods are rarer these days due to the Sacanadaga Lake flood control dam, the truth is this area is not immune to flooding.
