Dun gene – Wikipedia

Dun gene – Wikipedia

The dun gene is a dilution gene that affects both red and black pigments in the coat color of a horse. Dun lightens most of the body while leaving the mane, tail, legs, and primitive markings (also called dun factors) dark. The lightening effect is caused by pigment only being placed in a part of each hair. Dun was the original color of horses, but most horses today are non-dun.

How Not to Change an Oil Filter

All I can say, is that kind of ducking πŸ¦† sucks. Make me want to cringe. I mean for reasons like that and because the dealership is so cheap to change the oil, I don't change the oil in my truck myself anymore. Not worth the time. U.S. Farmer Income Drops Most Since 2016 Amid Trade War Pain – Bloomberg

U.S. Farmer Income Drops Most Since 2016 Amid Trade War Pain – Bloomberg

Personal income for farmers fell by the most in three years in the first quarter, as losses to U.S. agriculture mount from President Donald Trump’s trade wars.

The Commerce Department on Monday cited the steep decline in farm proprietors’ income as a key factor weighing on the nation’s overall personal income growth in March, even though agricultural producers represent only about 2 percent of total employed Americans.

The report provided fresh evidence of the growing financial strain on U.S. farmers hit by the trade war, low commodity prices and a series of natural disasters including spring floods in the Midwest. With rural voters a key part of Trump’s electoral coalition, it also underscores the political pressure to conclude the China trade war as U.S. negotiators begin another round of talks in Beijing this week.

EPA Decides Not To Ban A Pesticide, Despite Its Own Evidence Of Risk

New EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt made his reputation opposing the agency's regulations, and many farm organizations expected him to renounce the proposed ban. But doing so would mean disregarding a substantial pile of scientific evidence that his agency has assembled on the risks of this chemical.

Farmers have been using chlorpyrifos since 1965. Most of them know it by its trade name, Lorsban. When Wesley Spurlock, a farmer in the panhandle of Texas, sees worms on his corn or aphids on his wheat, this is the chemical that he typically loads into his sprayer.

How climate change could disrupt maple syrup production in Upstate NY – syracuse.com

"Doug Thompson, 68, has been tapping maple trees since he was a kid growing up in the North Country. Like many long-time maple producers in Upstate New York, Thompson says things are changing."

"We’ve been making syrup here my whole lifetime,” said Thompson, who taps about 9,000 trees in and around Gouverneur, in St. Lawrence County. β€œIn general, we’re seeing the maple season starting two weeks earlier than when I was a kid."
