Delightful Spring Hump Day

Good Morning. What a delightful spring morning, with temperatures already in the mid-50s and expected to top out a little above 70 degrees. While spring seems to have been retarded by the cold winter, it seems like we are definitely moving into the warmer months of the year. Memorial Day Weekend is only 3 weeks away, which seems impossibly close, and heck with the cold weather, I don’t know if Moose River Plains or Piseco-Powley Road will be open for Memorial Day Holiday Weekend.

I’m ready for summer. Last summer in many ways was a non-summer, but I have strong hopes that this year will go much better. We will see. But one things is a certain, things will green up and winter will end. I was looking at photos of the Potholers this morning, and thinking that time would be upon us before we know it. In a few weeks I’ll be getting on the bus, enjoying the fresh blast of air conditioning in the morning.

Getting my replacement cellphone this afternoon after work. I have to drive up to Colonie and pick it up. The FedEx store that has it is 24-7, so it’s not a rush even if I get stuck late at work. I have headlights I can use if it gets dark before I get up there. It will be great to be able to receive calls and texts again, plus be able to keep an eye on work emails and the social media.

Still the weekend forecast looks pretty nice. I am still thinking of going to the Adirondacks, assuming everything else goes smoothly for the rest of the week. Probably do some fishing up in Wells or Spectulator, and maybe some hiking back along the roads of the Spectulator Tree Farm and visit Auger Falls. Nothing is set is stone, but that’s what I’m leaning towards doing. I guess I could try my luck at fishing the East Branch, but from what I’ve read, it’s really not worth the time.
