December 3, 2019 Night

Good evening! Mostly clear and 23 degrees at the Downtown Albany. Calm wind. There are 24 inches of snow on the ground. β˜ƒ ️Things will start to thaw out at tomorrow around 10 am. 🌡️ Snow melt is probably a good thing. It’s been a big one here in Albany and it’s caused so much delays on the evening commute.

Long day at work but they got us dinner which was nice. 🍲 But the bus was running about ten or fifteen minutes late due to the narrow roads and snow removal efforts. 🚍 At least urban bus stops were pretty clear of snow. Still a real slog home 🏡. That said, I think we made good progress catching up on all the work from the Monday snow day. I could definitely go for the 10 hour workday, four days a week. For a while traffic was completely jammed on Lark Street. ❄ It will get better once the snow emergency is fully underway.

Tonight will have increasing clouds ☁, with a low of 18 degrees at 11pm. Eight degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical night around December 24th. Maximum wind chill around 20 at 10pm; Light and variable wind. In 2018, we had partly cloudy skies in the evening, which became mist by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 21 degrees. The record low of -9 occurred back in 1940.

Tonight will have a First Quarter with 58% illuminated with the moon setting at 11:14 pm. The moon will set at 12:00 am. The First Quarter Moon will be tonight with a slight chance of snow showers. The Cold Moon 🌝 is on Wednesday, December 11th. The sun will rise at 7:07 am with the first light at 6:35 am, which is one minute and 2 seconds later than yesterday. 🌄 Tonight will have 14 hours and 46 minutes of darkness, an increase of one minute and 18 seconds over last night.

Tomorrow will be mostly cloudy 🌥, with a high of 36 degrees at 2pm. Four degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around December 14th. Calm wind. A year ago, we had cloudy skies. The high last year was 39 degrees. The record high of 63 was set in 1998. 6.0 inches of snow fell back in 1901.❄ How little.

I am just glad there are only three more work days left this week. 😴 Between the long day and the evening communte I’m so tired. Maybe it’s also the Lyme medication 💊 I don’t know. I’m many ways it was a tough day but one for a better tomorrow. This commute home is such a slog. Finally made it to Delmar but not until really late.

In four weeks on December 31 the sun will be setting at 4:30 pm,🌄 which is 8 minutes and 47 seconds later then tonight. That’s New Years Eve. And then it will be the shit show known as 2020. But the New Year will bring warmer weather, more opportunities to save and grow, to learn and become a better person. I am already so tired of winter after the long commute home 🏡.

Looking ahead, 7:15 AM Sunrise βŒ›οΈ is in 1 weeks, Christmas Eve 🎅 is in 3 weeks, New Years Eve 🎆 is in 4 weeks, Latest Sunrise of the Winter 🌄️ is a month away, Coldest Week of the Year 🌬 is in 6 weeks, Martin Luther King Day 🖤 is in 7 weeks and Election Day 2020 🗳️ is in -1 months.
