Daily Update – April 20, 2022
Good morning! What day is it? Probably a busy Hump Day, of course.
After a quiet start to the week usually the second half of the week is busy. With only six weeks left until the end of the legislative session, and lots of committee meeting next week I’m sure it will be a busy few days.
Mostly cloudy and 40 degrees in Delmar, out.πNY. β There is a west breeze at 14 mph. π. There are 2 inches of snow on the ground. β οΈTemperatures will drop below freezing at tomorrow around 1 am. βοΈ
With the remaining clumbs of snow β around and the strong winds π¬οΈ it feels more like a March morning than April but the snow is already disappearing quickly. Still a ton of snow up north and in the hill towns but it’s not expected to last too far into next week. At least I’m not trudging through the slop down to the express bus π this morning. Sidewalks are clear and dry already. Big Red still has a lot of snow on him. π»
With the wind π¬οΈ and the clouds and general dampness from the melting snow π¨ its a rather bitterly cold morning for late April. I guess cold April’s aren’t uncommon in Albany, indeed it’s the month warming the slowest of any month of the year.
I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for winter to be done and maybe get up to the Adirondacks before the black flies are out.π Maybe next weekend. With the cold spring it just seems like it so tardy this year.
Tonight is the Save the Pine Bush Virtual Dinner, π² actually just a Zoom presentation by Tina Liberman about Down To Earth: Practical Steps You Can Take to Reduce Carbon Emissions & Save Our Climate. I’ll be attending but I’m afraid it mostly will be a sales pitch about greeny products you can buy to feel green. I think rather then buying greenie products, the best thing to do is just buy nothing at all.
