Cold ride in today 🚲

Ten degrees according to the app on my phone this morning. I wasn’t going to ride in but I had work to do and wanted to get in earlier then the early shuttle, and it wasn’t like I was that willing to fire up Big Red to get into the office early.

Coffee is much better when you’ve abstained for a few days, β˜• though I didn’t get milk to put in the coffee as I figure I’ll get it this evening I’ll get milk at the grocery store. I used to be a die-hard consumer of milk from Stewarts’ as I liked supporting local dairies πŸ„ in Saratoga and Washington Counties but lately I’ve just been getting it from the grocery store, as most of it comes from the milk plant in East Greenbush and is still locally sourced, in part to save a few dimes. πŸ‘›I know it’s kind of silly one way or another, but I’ve not noticed that much difference in taste. Plus, it’s just one trip. I’ve also been putting off getting milk, 🍢 as I’m tired of all those plastic milk jugs accumulating in the trash, as I haven’t been to my parents house or transfer station to drop off milk bottles nor have I had any fires lately. πŸ”₯ I do miss summer. πŸ•

I won’t say it was the most physically active weekend, as Saturday afternoon and all of Sunday was bitterly cold with the wind 🌬 but I’m hopeful now with the improved spring weather 🌸 I will be able to ride in more. I am definitely looking forward to the bike trail being free of ice, ❄ I hate the bump-bump of the rough ice and the necessary speed reductions. Of course, it will probably also mean more drinking beer 🍺 and smoking pot up in wilderness, but also all that fresh produce that is cheap and plentiful 🌽 come summer. I used to walk out in the cold all of the time, but nowadays the cold bothers me more, indeed my hands were swollen and cold by the time I got in to the office after riding this morning, 🧀 despite the warm gloves mom got me, and the lack of wind. It just was only 10 degrees. I’m ready for spring, if I haven’t mentioned that enough.
