Earlier in the week there was a big fireworks show to celebrate the end of the pandemic. A lot of people got vaccinated as did myself, but it seems like you still have a wear your muzzle most of the places where you had to wear it — walking around in the office and on the bus. I guess a few months back when I got vaccinated, I stopped wearing a bandana around my neck when I did my evening walk but it sure seems like everybody still wears their mask at the supermarket. Maybe it’s different in other parts of the state, and maybe muzzle-wearing rules are unnecessary, but I am not certainly celebrating the end of pandemic restrictions in my own life.

President Biden on Thursday signed a bill to recognize Juneteenth — the celebration to commemorate the end of chattel slavery in the United States — as a federal holiday.
Federal employees will observe the holiday for the first time on Friday.
"Throughout history, Juneteenth has been known by many names: Jubilee Day, Freedom Day, Liberation Day, Emancipation Day, and today, a national holiday," said Vice President Harris, who is the first woman, Asian-American and the first Black person to serve as vice president.
