Good morning! Happy Thursday. Today marks Five weeks to State Primary Day 🗳οΈ. Clouds with times of sun and 75 degrees in Delmar. β There is a west breeze at 5 mph. 🍃. The dew point is 69 degrees.
Today is my eye doctor appointment at eleven, so it’s not a huge rush for me. 👀 I plan to leave a bit early so I can take the bus there, and get my pupils dilated. Fun stuff but I need a check up and get more contacts before I start traveling again for work.
Today is a pretty nice day day, 😎so before going to the eye doctor I decided to walk down to the library and return my books that I had coming due. Also decided to spend some time cleaning, especially the drain board on the sink which had become a bit moldy during vacation. It was a a very hot and wet week that I was gone.
Today will have a slight chance of showers before noon, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms between noon and 1pm. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny β, with a high of 83 degrees at 3pm. One degree above normal. Maximum dew point of 69 at 8am. Northwest wind 5 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 84 degrees. The record high of 96 was set in 2001.
The sun will set at 8:04 pm with dusk around 8:35 pm, which is one minute and 22 seconds earlier than yesterday. 🌇 At sunset, look for mostly clear skies and 77 degrees. The dew point will be 62 degrees. There will be a west-northwest breeze at 9 mph. Today will have 14 hours and 8 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 26 seconds over yesterday.
Tonight will be mostly clear 🌞 , with a low of 64 degrees at 5am. Three degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 63 at 6pm. West wind 5 to 9 mph becoming calm after midnight. In 2017, we had mostly cloudy skies, clearing in the early hours of the next day. It got down to 60 degrees. The record low of 48 occurred back in 1955.
Still chewing over the weekend plans, but all the evidence suggests that I will stay closer to home, rather than make a big trip. βΊ I am not in the mood to battle traffic on the Northway or Thruway and I’m just kind of tired.
Looking ahead, there are 5 weeks until State Primary Day 🗳οΈ when the sun will be setting at 7:08 pm with dusk at 7:36 pm. On that day in 2017, we had rain, fog, shallow fog, patches of fog, mist, mostly cloudy skies and temperatures between 79 and 50 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 73 degrees. We hit a record high of 92 back in 1948.
