August 14, 2019 Morning
Good morning! Happy Altamont Fair Opens π‘! Fair season is upon us. You know summer is winding down. Next Wednesday is State Fair Opens. I’ve never been to the state fair, but then again I’d rather spend my time in the wilderness. Cloudy and 65 degrees in Delmar, NY. β I did bring my rain coat as I’m not sure if we will get more rain. β Probably not. There is a north breeze at 6 mph. π. The dew point is 61 degrees. The skies will clear around 10 am.
This morning cloudy but it’s expected to clear out fairly early this morning. β Should hopefully be a nice afternoon, although very humid. Tonight I have a Save the Pine Bush event to go to, π²and tomorrow it’s off to John Wolcott’s house.ππ I also need to get some butter for my sweet corn π½ and contact solution for my eyes. π
Today will have a slight chance of showers before 10am. Mostly sunny π, with a high of 79 degrees at 3pm. Two degrees below normal, which is similar to a typical day around August 24th. Maximum dew point of 62 at 10am. North wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. A year ago, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning with some clearing in the afternoon. It was humid. The high last year was 85 degrees. The record high of 97 was set in 1988.

Back in 1962, two gunmen hijacked a mail truck in Plymouth, Massachusetts, and made off with $1.5 million.π° The money or the people who hijacked the truck have never been found. It would have been worth more then $12.78 million today — it’s actually I really remarkable story involving costumes, fake construction workers and policeman.
I am still thinking about taking a long weekend up at Potholers this very hot and humid weekend. ππ Saturday, a chance of showers after 8am. Partly sunny, with a high near 82. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Maximum dew point of 71 at 1pm. Sunday, a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 85. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
