April 2, 2018 Morning

Good morning! Monday’s come back around again. Light snow and 33 degrees in Delmar, NY. โ„ There is a south breeze at 5 mph. ๐Ÿƒ. Expect a fairly quick clearing out later on this morning. I’m tired because I’m still struggling to get my sleep cycle back in sync.

Winter is back once again. It’s snowing out pretty good this morning, although it’s not really sticking to the ground. โ„I was hoping to be done wearing my winter jacket to work at this point but at least it’s warm enough that my heat is off. Sunny and nice later so any dusting we got this morning is quickly going to melt. โ˜€

Today will have a chance of snow, mainly before 10am. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny ๐ŸŒž , with a high of 48 degrees at 5pm. Four degrees below normal. Light and variable wind becoming northwest 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies with more clouds in the afternoon. The high last year was 59 degrees. The record high of 77 was set in 2010. 8 inches of snow fell back in 1924.โ„

The sun will set at 7:23 pm with dusk around 7:51 pm, which is one minute and 8 seconds later than yesterday. ๐ŸŒ‡ At sunset, look for mostly clear skies and 43 degrees. There will be a west breeze at 6 mph. Today will have 12 hours and 48 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 51 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have increasing clouds โ˜, with a low of 29 degrees at 5am. Four degrees below normal. Calm wind becoming south around 6 mph after midnight. In 2017, we had partly cloudy skies. It got down to 31 degrees. The record low of 16 occurred back in 1954.

Decided to disable the PIR sensor on my LED lights. That’s been nothing but trouble for me. I don’t think I have a bug in the code but instead I think the sensor pin isn’t working right because my shield I built isn’t really tight to the Arduino. Its fine, it was my first big project, the next version of the project will use an Arduino Nano when eventually I build it probably next winter.

Bought a USB Amp Meter. A lot of the projects I’ve been building use power from USB chargers. ๐Ÿ”ŒSo last week I bought a USB power meter to see how much power I’m actually pulling off the power supplies to double check my math and ensure that I am not pulling too much power. Its ordered from AliExpress and hasn’t shipped yet so I doubt I will get it until later in the month. Often things come within two weeks from AliExpress but some things are yet to be manufactured so you end up waiting a while.

Didn’t sleep well last night. After what happened last night, sticking up for my rights as a citizen, ๐Ÿ‘ฎthen working on fixing the LED controller and my sleep pattern being way off, I had a lot of trouble getting to sleep. ๐Ÿ’คBut at least I got my wash put away, and the led fixature working again once I disabled the PIR sensor code in the micro controller. I really shouldn’t complain, I didn’t get a ticket. ๐ŸŽซ

Transistor Radio provided entertainment through the night. Every time I woke up last night I ended up listening to the radio which I kept on low all night long๐Ÿ“ป. It’s kind of nice being in the know all night long. The BBC is good for sleeping. Being that it doesn’t run through my phone I can use my phone for other things while the radio plays in the background.

Need to clean out my refrigerator this week. My hope is to get to the transfer station on ๐ŸšSaturday do I need to have all the empty bottles and spoiled food cleaned out of the refrigerator and packaging ready for recycling. This way I can empty out the cans and bottles in the back of my truck and load my camping gear back up. I doubt I’ll be able to go camping with the current weather this weekend but maybe later in the month.

Looking ahead, there are 8 weeks until Memorial Day ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ when the sun will be setting at 8:23 pm with dusk at 8:57 pm. On that day in 2017, we had cloudy skies and temperatures between 74 and 60 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 73 degrees. We hit a record high of 93 back in 2016.
