Meet Pam Byrne and John Huerta of West Virginia

Meet Pam Byrne and John Huerta of West Virginia

Ownership of land comes with incredible benefits. If you treat your land right, it can provide you so much value in return. However, it also comes with its challenges. Without the proper care and technical expertise, maintaining large areas of natural landscapes quickly becomes a slippery slope, full of uphill work and hidden surprises. The couple was excited to own their acres of incredible wilderness right in their backyard. They wanted to do as much as they could to promote the health of their woods and its native species – without making it a full time job. And as with other landowners, invasive plants and animals are of growing concern for the two as well. Pam and John are well aware of the thorny bushes and invasive insects slowly eating away their natural landscapes. They quickly realized they needed help to understand their woods better and how to treat them for improvement. So when Pam and John learned about the Family Forest Carbon Program, it wasn’t long before they became early adopters of the program for their state.

Daily Update – May 4, 2022

Good morning! Today is the 8:30 PM Dusk πŸŒ† .

Evenings are getting longer although it seems like lately I’ve either been working late or it’s cloudy and rainy so I’ve not been able to take advantage.

A brief break in the rain, cloudy and 50 degrees in Delmar, NY. ☁️ There is a south-southeast breeze at 11 mph. πŸƒ. The skies will clear tomorrow around goingnoontime.

Out for my morning walk 🚢 earlier than normal as I was awake and I wanted to get out before the next round of showers. β˜” That said I’m hoping the rain holds off until after nine 9⃣ o’clock as I left my umbrella in the office. I think I have another one at home but it’s not my good umbrella.

Yesterday I got home around 6 pm 🀜 though the bus was running a bit late 🚍 due to the abortion protests downtown. I don’t see why it’s such an issue or controversy nowadays when there is a safe and relatively inexpensive abortion pill πŸ’Š you can get in the mail. Accidents happen and $90 fixes aren’t a bad thing. Less with insurance.

Its been kind of a crazy πŸ€ͺ work with work, there is just a lot going on. Dad was in the hospital πŸ₯ for a few days, I was going to visit him yesterday but he got released. 🌲 Been working on a map πŸ—Ί for the Save the Pine Bush booth at the Tulip festival 🌷. Still sort of unpacking at least mentally from the weekend that was in the Adirondacks.
