Highly Confident People Avoid These 14 Behaviors

Highly Confident People Avoid These 14 Behaviors

An organization is never more confident than its leader, which accentuates the importance for leaders to display unswerving confidence in themselves, their vision, their strategy, and their people. Leading with confidence involves important nuances like avoiding the opposite (leading from a place of fear) and learning how to handle criticism. It also involves knowing not only what traits to project but what behaviors to avoid.

Having seen a multitude of leaders over a 30-plus-year career, from ?ber-confident to the point of arrogance down to timid and unsure, I’ve developed an eye for what constitutes highly (but not unjustifiably) confident leaders and the behavioral traps they avoid. Here are the 14 behaviors the self-assured self-select out of.

Building my confidence is something lately I've been working on. Sometimes it really is just best to bite the bullet, put one foot in front of the other one.

Weather Update – November 21, 2021

Not going to be a real sunny day today. ☁️

Not that I was planning to do much today outdoors, and it’s November. Thanksgiving though looks increasingly nice, so I should embrace that. Not sure though at this point if the weekend will be good to get up to the Adirondacks, though that’s something I often like to do on Buy Nothing Day. I’ll see, money is always tight, and the weather often isn’t that good this time of year but I’d like to get out of town at least one or two more times a year.

Good Morning – November 21, 2021

Good morning! Happy Sunday.

Cloudy and 35 degrees in Delmar, NY. ☁ Calm wind. Temperatures will drop below freezing at tomorrow around 8 pm. β˜ƒοΈ

As I usually do, woke up pretty early this morning, 😩 although not quite as early today as I was up until the late hour of 8:45 PM last night reading Thinking Small about the history of the Volkswagen, the Strength through Joy Car put together by Porche and the Nazis, which a few years later became a popular imported car due to it’s relatively low cost and thrifty nature. Interestingly enough, the early Kias have never had the same status as the early Volkswagen did in America.

Yesterday, I walked out to Five Rivers 🐸 and then down to the library. πŸ“š It was a pretty quiet day. First day of big game season in Southern Zone, some year I’ll participate when I own my own land. I’m making pretty decent money at my job now, especially with my new position, so that’s less far off then maybe a while back, but I still want to build up my savings a bit more. πŸ’° I always feel poor, but a lot of it is because I’m saving and investing so much.

This morning at 9 AM I am taking the truck to Mavis Tire to have the new 35s put on. They had the best price for the 35s, and they could get them in 3 days, so I ended up getting BFGs with them. ⚫ Monday Big Red gets inspected, and then at some point I need to get that shock bushing repaired. Maybe next week or the week after that I will get that repaired. I took the hub caps off so to save some time there — I’ll drop off the truck, go for a walk and pick up the truck. I really don’t want to get these tires, but knows the time, as they should last the remaining life of the vehicle. Sometimes you got to bite the bullet. πŸ”« πŸ˜‹ It’s cheaper then getting a new car, and I have the money, I tell myself.

Then I want to swing by the grocery store πŸ₯ž and get some maple syrup, blueberries, and cheese and other groceries before heading out to folks house for lunch at 1 PM. I am now doing lunch with the folks as I really don’t like driving home in the dark with so much traffic coming in the opposite direction.
