Weather Update – November 4, 2021

Cold but sunny today. β˜€οΈ

But the forecast looks nothing short of amazing for my vacation. I definitely picked an awesome November week — seasonably cool but sunny. 😎

I do need to think about getting my sweaters 🧣and the electric space heater out of the crawl space although I’m okay with the cold at this point but I’ll at least want the sweaters before heading out of town although I’ll probably mostly just wear the hoodirs.

Good Morning – November 4, 2021

Good morning! A cold start to your Thursday. πŸ”

Okay, relatively speaking it isn’t bad but it would be a lot warmer if I turned up the heat, but I’m not going to because it will warm up later. The fog though makes it feel especially cool out this morning.

Partly sunny and 29 degrees in Delmar, NY. β˜€οΈ Calm wind. Things will start to thaw out at around 7 am. 🌑️ Another hard frost, but it’s November here in Biden’s America. Can’t expect it to be too warm, although with climate change, even the coldest days aren’t like they once were. Of course, the Republicans don’t think it’s warm enough. And I don’t follow politics closely, but I listen to NPR enough when I can’t sleep to have a clue what is going on. 🌎

Yesterday was a pretty ordinary day, πŸ’Ό back downtown for work. Two more days in the office before vacation. I don’t mind taking off Monday, as it’s nice to be out of the office. I have quite a bit of vacation time, and this is the time to take it. Plus I realized I actually have more time then I first estimated — the PEP program is only 4 days now for me, and I have gained more vacation time, which I earn each payroll.

Continuing to explore the Census and R. πŸ€– There are so many neat things you can do with the R Programming Language with a few lines of code and the appropriate libraries. I’ve been learning so much about tidycensus, and it’s amazing how many things you can plot and graph with a few lines of code. Cool things with R don’t require a lot of code, and aren’t difficult once you get used to typing %>% a lot.

I have my camping permit for Hicks Run Campground in Pennsylvania, for checking out the elk 🦌 and some of the other wild country in that part of Pennsylvania. It’s for the second half of next week — four nights. I probably won’t stay every night, but I figure get the permit and have options. Probably spend the first half of the week in Madison County and then the Finger Lakes then head south, but nothing is set in stone yet. I like seeing those little hick towns in Pennsylvania.
