April 11, 2021 Morning

Good morning! Happy Sunday. Next Sunday the Average High is 60. Partly cloudy and 58 degrees at the Five Rivers Environmental Education Center. 🌀️There is a southeast breeze at 6 mph. πŸƒ. The dew point is 52 degrees. The skies will clear Wednesday around 8 pm.

This morning I decided to walk down to Five Rivers 🐦 with my binoculars, scope out some birds and wildlife, enjoy the sun before the clouds push in for the day. 🚢🏻 Right now it’s a pretty nice morning but it’s not expected to last. Seeing a lot of wildlife at Five Rivers, the woodchuck is still hanging out under Radley Barn, spotted a different muskrat in a different pond today, red winged black bird, geese, chickadee, among others.

Today will have showers, mainly after 4pm. Cloudy 🌦, with a high of 64 degrees at 2pm. Eight degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around April 28th. Maximum dew point of 54 at 1pm. Southeast wind 6 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. A year ago, we had cloudy skies in the morning with a few breaks of sun the afternoon. The high last year was 50 degrees. The record high of 87 was set in 2017. 1.7 inches of snow fell back in 1942.❄

This afternoon, I will head home and then out to the folks house for Sunday dinner. 🍲 Probably get there early so I can leave before dark with rain predicted. β˜” I don’t like driving in the rain after dark especially if I can avoid it on the rural roads.

Solar noon 🌞 is at 12:57 pm with sun having an altitude of 55.8Β° from the due south horizon (-15Β° vs. 6/21). A six foot person will cast a 4.1 foot shadow today compared to 2.2 feet on the first day of summer. The golden hour πŸ… starts at 6:56 pm with the sun in the west (276Β°). πŸ“Έ The sunset is in the west-northwest (282Β°) with the sun dropping below the horizon at 7:33 pm after setting for 2 minutes and 57 seconds with dusk around 8:02 pm, which is one minute and 9 seconds later than yesterday. πŸŒ‡ The best time to look at the stars is after 8:37 pm. At sunset, look for rain 🌧 and temperatures around 59 degrees. The dew point will be 49 degrees. There will be a east-southeast breeze at 9 mph. Today will have 13 hours and 13 minutes of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 49 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have showers. 🌧 Low of 44 degrees at 6am. Eight degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around May 4th. East wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. In 2020, we had clear skies in the evening, which became partly cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 29 degrees. The record low of 13 occurred back in 1874.

Yesterday, I went out to the Massachusetts – New York line πŸ—» and hiked the Taconic Skyline ATV Trail to the CCC trail then down along the Taconic Crest Hiking Trail back to my truck. It was a nice day with lots of wildlife to observe. 🐸 Only saw one other person all day. Been taking photos with my good camera πŸ“Έ so I’ll have to upload them later.

While the week’s weather forecast isn’t great I have a lot planned. 🎣 Tuesday is my second COVID shot πŸ’‰ and therapy session πŸ‘€, and I have Friday off to spend a long weekend in the woods doing some fishing and camping. β›Ί Probably the ADKs but not opposed to Central NY if weather is better. The forecast isn’t perfect but it looks like we will be getting some rain β˜” this week which should make having a small fire πŸ”₯ up in the woods relatively safe if I drown the coals when done. πŸ’¦ Looking forward to having the COVID shot done, and I think if I’m very transparent and forecoming in my therapy sessions it will be a a good investment – a hundred or two bucks in copay for higher wages πŸ’΅ and more confidence down the road.

As previously noted, next Sunday the Average High is 60 🌷 when the sun will be setting at 7:41 pm with dusk at 8:10 pm. On that day in 2020, we had snow showers, partly cloudy skies and temperatures between 49 and 34 degrees. Kind of a cold day. We hit a record high of 90 back in 1976.

Report Assesses Media’s Role in Bail Law Changes

After the initial cash bail law was approved, law enforcement sources would often blame the measure for why someone wasn't in jail. But in many instances, the law did not apply. Nevertheless, the press reported these claims uncritically.??

"Too often those stories were just untrue and they often used sensationalized headlines or un-fact checked claims from law enforcement," Bennett said.?
