President Biden is doubling his original COVID-19 vaccination goal to 200 million shots in arms by his 100th day in office — which is just over a month away.

When he entered office, Biden said his goal was 100 million vaccine doses in 100 days — a target many observers thought was not ambitious enough. According to federal health officials, that 100 million figure was hit on Biden's 58th day in office.

MADISON COUNTY, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Hundreds of essential workers want to be next in line for a vaccine, but there’s one group still waiting whose work impacts our daily lives and the food we eat.

Farmers and other agricultural workers don’t get a day off, and one farmer in Madison County says their immunity can end up impacting the amount of food we see on store shelves, which is what we saw at the beginning of the pandemic.

This time last year, store shelves were empty, food was limited, and milk was being poured out.

For cities, this means that if they haven't been doing so already, they need to prepare for the inevitable: EVs will become the predominant vehicle type on their roads, from public transit to personal vehicles. Residents will need ample opportunities to charge and, with that, a reliable charging experience that reinforces EVs as convenient and accessible. Cities are ground zero for successful charging deployments

Cities are key to ensuring the continued adoption of EVs and charging infrastructure. There are a lot of factors for key decision-makers to consider when choosing the right technology and policies for a successful charging deployment: what types of EVs are prevalent, what are the best locations to deploy stations, whether the stations will be used for quick charges or overnight sessions, and the travel patterns of residents, to name a few.

Beyond this, when cities also prioritize policies that ensure a high-quality charging experience for drivers and fleet operators, along with proper stewardship of public dollars, everyone benefits. So, what is the best way to do this? Instituting high-reliability requirements, for one, as it will immensely reduce maintenance and operation costs over a station's lifetime and ensure a city's public dollars are well spent.

That’s the gory statistic that the politicians are trying to avoid when it comes to COVID-19 deaths. People are still dying – 1,500 Americans daily from the pandemic every day. While the vaccine is available it’s still being rolled out slowly and isn’t widely available at all retailers or drug stores.

But the politicians are desperately trying to avoid discussing the CONTINUING problem of COVID-19. Gun control is on their minds after two very minor incidents of gun violence which really are non remarkable when you compare to all the daily death from COVID-19. It’s easy to infringe on the rights of hard working Americans, but ignore what is killing them left and right – COVID-19.

While I fully understand that police departments want more patronage jobs so they can hire their Uncle Billy and get fun new toys, and television loves all the advertising revenue from dead children selling cars and laundry soap, the focus really needs to be on stopping COVID-19 by making vaccination convenient and widely accessible as soon as possible.
