Good morning! Happy Thursday. Three weeks to Summer οΈβ±οΈ. Mostly cloudy and 61 degrees at the Elm Ave Park & Ride – CDTA. β Calm wind. The dew point is 55 degrees. The skies will clear tomorrow around 5 am.
I picked up my dry cleaning and are taking the express downtown. π Not a real nice morning, I’m starting to think it will rain in a bit based on the black clouds to the west. My umbrella is at work β so hopefully I’ll be in the office before it starts. Apparently they use a Quebec company at my dry cleaners to clean fur – there was a company truck with Quebec plates loading up the fur when I got there. Trapping is still a big business up north, helps protect Canadian natural resources and gives people things to do in the wilderness. π»
Today will be mostly cloudy π₯, with a high of 75 degrees at 3pm. Two degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical day around June 3rd. Maximum dew point of 57 at 4pm. Light west wind becoming southwest 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. A year ago, we had mostly sunny skies. The high last year was 86 degrees. The record high of 92 was set in 1987.
The sun will set at 8:25 pm with dusk around 8:59 pm, which is 49 seconds later than yesterday. π At sunset, look for rain π§ and thunderstorms π© and temperatures around 70 degrees. The dew point will be 58 degrees. There will be a south-southwest breeze at 8 mph. Today will have 15 hours and 4 minutes of daytime, an increase of one minute and 22 seconds over yesterday.
Tonight will have showers and thunderstorms likely before 1am, then a chance of showers. Mostly cloudy π§, with a low of 56 degrees at 5am. Four degrees above normal, which is similar to a typical night around June 12th. Maximum dew point of 58 at 7pm. South wind 5 to 8 mph becoming west after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. In 2018, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became partly cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 61 degrees. The record low of 34 occurred back in 1961.
Yesterday when I looked at my investments I was a bit disappointed compared to the beginning of the month. π₯Markets are down a bit but I expected. To have lots of up you have to have up. Retirement is a long time away as is buying land but in the mean time I can continue on my plan for saving for a better tomorrow.
The USB to serial adapter I ordered from china’s few weeks ago is only TTL 5 volt logicβ‘ so I’m going to have to use it with a voltage divider or level converter if I want to use it to program the Bluetooth modules. They make USB to serial modules that are both TTL 5 volt and CMOS 3.3 volt but I ordered the wrong one. They are cheap, the one I ordered cost 76Β’ but a switch able one with a jumper would be about $1.25, less than a bus fare. π«
If it clears up tonight I’ll probably try to warranty the hammock again, get the battery box π and maybe battery then go for a walk in the Pine Bush. πΆ It would be great if I had that all done by the weekend.
I find it hard to believe that June is just around the corner and that Labor Day is just three months away. πSeemed like just yesterday the sign in my bedroom read four weeks until the average high is 40. How fast the changes come and go. Maybe because it’s been such a cold and rainy spring I didn’t see the changes coming.
