Facebook App Review

I submitted my Facebook application for review with Facebook but I fully expect them to reject it as they seem to want my password to the blog and I’m not willing to give them that. ๐Ÿ‘ŽI don’t so much mind signing a contract with Facebook if it’s relatively affordable to do but they keep breaking the API and it’s annoying. ๐Ÿ‘ฟ

I could see dropping Facebook on the blog in favor of Twitter which is much less of a pain to work with as a platform. Their API is straightforward and never breaks. I don’t think ๐Ÿ’ญ I’ve had to adjust one line of code in years for Twitter.

I know that a lot of people are on Facebook and I like it for the photos and pages ๐Ÿ‘ช but I’m fed up with how they treat hobbyist developers.๐Ÿ“ฑ Facebook has gotten too big and evil in recent years. ๐Ÿ‘Ž

Education should be affordable

I don’t really understand the big deal with wealthy folk buying themselves into elite colleges …

The truth is elite colleges ๐ŸŽ“ are overpriced education, when there are much cheaper and better state schools available. Education shouldn’t be competitive, you should be able to buy it like you buy a pair of jeans ๐Ÿ‘– at Wal-Mart. If you have money is piss away ๐Ÿ’ต then do it but I think it’s better to pay for education with cash and get it done as cheaply as possible, gaining the necessary skills you need to be successful in your career.

I really struggled to get up this morning. ๐Ÿ˜ด I did make the bus ๐Ÿš but it was tight. I had to open up my last Sears shirt ๐Ÿ‘š and iron it, wasn’t easy getting going. Made waffles, had a quick shower ๐Ÿšฟ and ran down to the bus.

Maybe finally we will have the early spring the Ground Hog promised. ๐Ÿป The snow is rapidly melting away, mostly the piles left by the plows. Mud is starting to pop up everywhere, although we didn’t get much rain last night as some places did leading to flooding. Lot less snow than a year ago, when we were digging out from a March snowstorm.

It looks like this month’s somewhat milder weather and my use of less heat ๐Ÿ”ฅ helped save some money. The power and gas bill last month was only $83 which was a refreshing change from the $103 the previous month. With milder weather on tap the next few weeks, hopefully it will fall even lower. I like having one of the lowest bills in the neighborhood, especially because I don’t believe in air conditioning.

I got the cellphone battery I ordered from ebay the other day. I haven’t installed it yet as I want to let it fully charge before use. ๐Ÿ”‹ Hopefully it will last longer than my current one.

Skipped my walk last night. It just got too late, ๐ŸŒƒ as I got working on fixing the bug in the code that sets the timer for the lights. It was just a missing line of code that I accidentally deleted but now it working properly. ๐Ÿ’ป

Today in 1900, the Gold Standard Act is ratified, placing United States currency on the gold standard.๐Ÿ’ฑ Some seventy years later the US would leave the gold standard as it really was not a workable idea ๐Ÿ’ก by the time the seventies rolled around.

A picture perfect weekend on tap. ๐Ÿ˜Ž Saturday, partly sunny, with a high near 44. Breezy, with a west wind 13 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph. Sunday, mostly sunny, with a high near 39. Typical average high for the weekend is 44 degrees.

In four weeks on April 11 the sun will be setting at 7:33 pm,๐ŸŒ„ which is 32 minutes and 9 seconds later then today.
