March 2, 2019 Night

Good evening! Clouds and 30 degrees in Delmar. ☁ There is a west breeze at 5 mph. πŸƒ. No snow today, not are there much for stars this evening when I went for my walk. There are 2 inches of snow on the ground. β˜ƒ ️Things will start to thaw out at tomorrow around 10 am. 🌑️

This morning I met my parents at Jakes Moon for breakfast 🍳 then came home and rode the excerise bike for a few while, then went to Walmart to buy groceries and out to my parents house for dinner. πŸ˜‹ I fixed the loose chain πŸ”— on the excerise bike 🚲 so now it doesn’t keep coming loose and rides much better than before. Worked on some blog posts πŸ’and then went for my evening walk 🚢.

Ever since I did the hard reset on my phone and reinstalled the software it’s been working great. πŸ“±Much faster now πŸ‘with many software updates, and I’m very impressed with the performance. I bought a new battery πŸ”‹ for the phone as the current one isn’t holding charge for a long time πŸ”Œ and I want to get more life out of this phone if possible.

Tonight will have a slight chance of snow showers before 11pm. Mostly cloudy 🌧, with a low of 25 degrees at 5am. Four degrees above normal, which is similiar to a typical night around March 14th. Relatively mild for this time of year. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%. In 2018, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 32 degrees. That had to have been a nice evening. πŸŒƒ The record low of -10 occurred back in 1950.

Tomorrow will have a chance of rain and snow, mainly after 4pm. Increasing clouds 🌞, with a high of 37 degrees at 2pm. Two degrees below normal, which is similiar to a typical day around February 25th. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming light and variable in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected. Thinking πŸ’ about going for a walk on the rail trail in the morning πŸš†then over take the bus 🚍 over to John Wolcott’s house in the afternoon to continue working on his history project. πŸ“šA year ago, we had light snow. The high last year was 42 degrees. I’m really not sure how big this snow storm will be. I’ve parked on the grass so it will probably turn out to be nothing. The record high of 64 was set in 2002. 10.9 inches of snow fell back in 1994.❄

Tomorrow night will snow. 🌨 Low of 25 degrees at 5am. Three degrees above normal, which is similiar to a typical night around March 14th. Calm wind becoming north 5 to 7 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible. β›„ Maybe I did make the right choice to go grocery shopping and out to the folks house today and park πŸ…Ώ on the grass. In 2018, we had mostly clear skies in the evening, which became cloudy by the early hours of the morning. It got down to 32 degrees. The record low of -20 occurred back in 1950.

Today in 1989, Twelve European Community nations agree to ban the production of all chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) by the end of the century.πŸ‘ I think you can say that they were mostly successful on this although occasionally you hear about CFC releases into the atmosphere from the new sources, the hole in the ozone is healing itself. 🌎

I do get annoyed when people get all political on Facebook. πŸ‘‘I know that the temptation is to respond back but the smarter option is just to hide the post from those people πŸ‘Œbut that’s sometimes harder than you would think. The nice thing about the blog is I have complete control over the content and commenting is limited to only certain sections of the blog. πŸ“„ For years I didn’t allow any comments on the blog at all. πŸ’I do allow some now though. Blog posts are a better format for sharing ideas even if it means fewer eye πŸ‘€ balls.

In four weeks on March 30 the sun will be setting at 7:19 pm (Daylight Savings Time),πŸŒ„ which is one hour, 32 minutes and 48 seconds later then tonight. In 2018 on that day, we had partly sunny, mist and temperatures between 50 and 37 degrees. Typically, you have temperatures between 51 and 31 degrees. The record high of 86 degrees was set back in 1986.

Looking ahead, Arbor Day 🌳 is in 8 weeks, 8 PM Sunset πŸŒ‡ is in 9 weeks, June 🍹 is in 13 weeks, Average High is 80 πŸ– is in 16 weeks, Hottest Time of the Year πŸ˜… is in 19 weeks and Average High Falls To 79 ️Degrees ⛱️️️ is in 25 weeks.

I’m getting tired, I probably should get some sleep. 😴 I want to get an early start tomorrow morning. πŸ’€

"In the standard narrative of the opioid crisis, greedy pharmaceutical companies are the villains and kids like Brianne are the casualties. But now we are in phase two, an addiction epidemic compounded by a treatment network that in many cases sets patients up for failure. Where pill mills proliferated a decade ago, unscrupulous rehabs sprout today. β€œA lot of the talk until this point has involved more money for rehab,” says Dave Aronberg, the state attorney for Palm Beach County, one of the few jurisdictions that has vigorously pursued lawbreaking treatment providers. β€œLittle has been said or done on the issue of patient brokering and insurance fraud that has cost so many lives.”

"The report starts with a number: $23 billion. According to EdBuild, that's how much more funding predominantly white school districts receive compared with districts that serve mostly students of color. "For every student enrolled, the average nonwhite school district receives $2,226 less than a white school district," the report says. EdBuild singles out 21 states β€” including California, New Jersey and New York β€” in which mostly white districts get more funding than districts composed primarily of students of color."

Distracted driving is a growing problem …. along the Delmar Bypass there were like 10 deer and 20 turkeys grazing …. everybody was looking to see if the turkey had beards or not, rather then focusing on the road.
