August 12, 2018 Morning

Good morning! Today is the Last Sunset After 8 PM 🌆. Not going to have much sun though tonight to enjoy that final late sunset of the year. Cloudy, dark, muggy and 72 degrees in Delmar. β˜” There is a north breeze at 5 mph. 🍃. The dew point is 66 degrees. Everything kind of feels like a swamp today. The skies will clear Wednesday around 10 am. That said it looks like we are having a few breaks of sun.

Doing some vacuuming and cleaning this morning, then I’ll head to the store later. Don’t need a lot of things although I do need dessert for the Sunday dinner at the folks house and some stuff for lunch at work. Probably end up going to Walmart to shop although I could certainly change my mind and head to Shoprite as usually when I go to Walmart I also have other shopping to do. I might go for a walk later on but it depends on the rain and how damn humid it will be later on.

Today will be scattered showers, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. Mostly cloudy β›…, with a high of 78 degrees at 2pm. Three degrees below normal. Maximum dew point of 70 at 4pm. Northeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. This weekend certainly hasn’t turned out nicely. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. A year ago, we had mostly cloudy skies. It was humid. The high last year was 81 degrees. Not much better last year. The record high of 99 was set in 1944.

The sun will set at 8:00 pm with dusk around 8:31 pm, which is one minute and 25 seconds earlier than yesterday. 🌇 At sunset, look for rain showers 💧and thunderstorms ⚑ and 73 degrees. The dew point will be 69 degrees. Yuck. There will be a east breeze at 5 mph. Today will have 14 hours of daytime, an increase of 2 minutes and 29 seconds over yesterday.

Tonight will have a chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight, then a chance of rain after midnight. Mostly cloudy β˜” , with a low of 69 degrees at 12am. Seven degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 70 at 6pm. Northeast wind 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. In 2017, we had light thunderstorm with rain in the evening, which became shallow fog by the early hours of the morning. It was humid. It got down to 63 degrees. The record low of 43 occurred back in 1957.

While this summer weekend is cool and rainy, 💧I’m hoping for nicer weather come next week as summer rapidly comes to a close. But I’m also looking forward to those nice crisp fall days, especially in November for my road trip.🍂🍁

Looking ahead, there are 12 weeks until Daylight Savings Time Ends 🛥️ when the sun will be setting at 4:43 pm with dusk at 5:13 pm (Standard Time). On that day in 2017, we had partly cloudy skies and temperatures between 50 and 33 degrees. Typically, the high temperature is 53 degrees. We hit a record high of 76 back in 1994.
