October 13, 2016 Night

Good evening! Partly cloudy and 46 degrees in Cicero, NY. There is a northwest breeze at 8 mph. Not a half bad evening, especially with this fairly mild weather. Not as warm as last night, but really not that bad in the grand scheme of things.

It was a pretty busy day but quite entertaining at that.Β No real disasters but for a good portion of the day, I was swamped with work. Sometimes you just get lucky. And it rained a lot in the morning but by afternoon it cleared out and got quite nice. I still need to get Big Red inspected. Maybe tomorrow if I have more time. This evening though, I did get some new code written up for the blogΒ up.

Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low of 38 degrees at 6am. Two degrees below normal. North wind 5 to 8 mph. The record low of 21 occurred back in 1958. Waxing Gibbous Moon tonight with 86% illuminated. The moon will set around 7:05 am. The Full β€œHunter” Moon is on Saturday eveing with mostly clear skies expected but with a chance of showers.

Tomorrow will be sunny, with a high of 56 degrees at 3pm. Five degrees below normal. Maximum dew point of 36 at 6am. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon. The record high of 81 was set in 1920. Tomorrow will be nothing like 1920, despite what at least one of presidential candidates wants tomorrow to be like.

Going to be a warm and nice autumn weekend. Saturday, patchy frost before 8am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 66. South wind 5 to 8 mph. Maximum dew point of 42 at 8pm. Sunday, a chance of showers after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 71. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Maximum dew point of 57 at 5pm. Typical average high for the weekend is 60 degrees.Β Definately good weather to be out and enjoying the fall colors, especially int he lower elevation.

In four weeks on November 10 the sun will be setting at 4:44 pm (Standard Time), which is 1 hour and 38 minutes earlier then tonight. The average high is 50 degrees, and the record for that date is 72 degrees was set back in 1931.

And for those looking at a good turkey,Β there are only six weeks remaining until Thanksgiving.Β Where does the time go by so quickly?

I should get to bed, ifΒ I want to go out hiking in the morning at Green Lakes State Park.Β Should be a nice day tomorrow and through the weekend.

Good morning! Happy Thursday.Β Kind of a rainy start to our morning, aroundΒ 54 degrees in North Syracuse. Β There is a south breeze at 7 mph. The dew point is 51 degrees. The skies will clear around 11 pm. Definitely kind of a rainy day outside, but the rain will stop later on and will clear out for Friday.

The news of Bob Dylan getting the Noble Prize for LiteratureΒ is kind of surprising, but the Noble committee in recent years has gotten more into nominating and approving pop figures. I always liked his song, Like a Rolling stone.

Today will have showers, mainly before noon. We will have a high of 58 degrees at nootime, with temperatures dropping in the afternoon a bit. Three degrees below normal. Maximum dew point of 52 at 10am. South wind 7 to 15 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. The record high of 81 was set in 1930.

The sun will set at 6:23 pm with dusk around 6:51 pm, which is 1 minutes and 39 seconds earlier than yesterday. Today will have 11 hours and 6 minutes of daylight, a decrease of 2 minutes and 51 seconds over yesterday. Early next week will start having less then 11 hours of daylight each day.

Tonight will be cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low of 40 degrees at 6am. Typical for tonight. West wind 5 to 10 mph. The record low of 21 occurred back in 1958.

October 12, 2016 Night

Good evening! Mostly clear and 59 degrees in North Syracuse. There is a south breeze at 8 mph. The dew point is 48 degrees. You rarely get weather this nice in mid-October in Central New York. I guess you could call this weather an October surpise.

It was a busy but good day. Amazing weather. And the weekend weather still looks good. I still do need to get a state inspection for my truck.

I think I’m happy with my choice for president, even if some of my friends aren’t. I watched the debates and gave it a lot of thought. Jill Stein seems like the leader we need. I’m glad I didn’t vote for Trump with all the disgusting things he says and does but I do think Trump would be a better stewart of our lands, more willing to listen to scientists and those who actually work and recreate on the lands, and certainly do more to protect the second amendment. Liberals who mostly live in the cities don’t get conservation. I’m fine with whoever is elected president as its really only a temporary job.

Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low of 53 degrees at 6am. 12 degrees above normal. Maximum dew point of 49 at 6am. South wind around 9 mph. The record low of 24 occurred back in 1981. Waxing Gibbous Moon tonight with 79% illuminated. The moon will set around 6:09 am. The Full β€œHunter” Moon is on Saturday evening with mostly clear skies expected but there is a chance of showers.

Tomorrow will have showers, mainly before 3pm. We will high of 60 degrees at 2pm. One degrees below normal. Maximum dew point of 53 at 11am. South wind 8 to 13 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. The record high of 81 was set in 1930.

Seasonable weather for the weekend but we have to watch out for showers on Sunday. Saturday, sunny, with a high near 62. Maximum dew point of 40 at 7pm. Sunday, a chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 68. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Maximum dew point of 54 at 5pm. Typical average high for the weekend is 60 degrees.

In four weeks on November 9 the sun will be setting at 4:45 pm (Standard Time), which is 1 hour and 39 minutes earlier then tonight. The average high is 51 degrees, and the record for that date is 71 degrees was set back in 1975.
